HI, I AM NEW TO THE FORUM AND NEW TO PASO'S I HAVE TWO PASOS. TITA A GRAND MARE CALLED A CLASSIC MARE BY A PUERTO RICAN TRAINER. SHE IS FULL OF ENERGY AND FUN. MY OTHER PASO IS A RESCUE GELDING - PALLO, FORMERLY ZIGGY. I HAVE BOTH HORSES BOARDING WITH CAROL NELSON. WELL FOLKS, THOSE OF YOU LOOKING FOR A HORSE TRAINER PAR EXCELLENT YOU WILL FIND HER A CAROL'S FARM.

SELDOM DO WE RUN ACROSS PEOPLE BLESSED WITH A FEELING FOR HORSES, A TALENT FOR TRAINING AND A HUMAN WHO HORSES LOVE AND RESPECT. WE HAVE ONE HERE IN TEXAS AT THE LAZYIDH. IF YOU NEED A HORSE TRAINED - BE IT A PASO OR ANY GAITED HORSE - WASTE NO TIME, CALL CAROL, THEN GET YOUR STEED INTO A TRAILER AND GO TO THIS FARM IN CENTRAL TEXAS. CAROL IS WORKING HARD TO GET PASO'S BETTER KNOW IN TEXAS.

CAROL HAS HIRED THE TRAINER DESCRIBED ABOVE. MY PALLO HAD A POOR START IN LIFE, BUT I HAVE WATCHED HIM CHANGE IN TO A HORSE WHO LIVES TO PLEASE, WE ARE GROUND WORKING HIM TO STRENGTHEN HIM, TO CORRECT WEAK MUSCLES AND WE ARE USING A CURSINGLE TO DO THIS. HE WORKS BEAUTIFULLY FOR SARA, DID NOT GET CRAZY THE FIRST TIME WE PUT THE CURSINGLE ON HIM AND DID ALL THAT WAS ASKED OF HIM.

SARA RODE MY HOT LITTLE MARE, TITA, AND HAD HER IN A FINO THE FIRST TIME OUT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN TITA FINO FOR ANY OF HER OTHER TRAINERS.

Wow, Alex....thanks a bunch....yes, I'm very pleased with Sarah. She is very talented and has a natural "knack" with the horses.
Thanks again for the kudos...we only strive to put out the best in Paso Fino horses!
I've still got to get some good photos of the girl doing her thing!

Oh, and I did NOT put Alex up to this! LOL

Alex,

Thank you so much for the kind words... Perhaps one of the reasons Pallo tries so hard for me is because he realizes I am not getting him out of his pen to make him work "or else"; I enjoy working with him so very much as he strives so hard to please.. Pallo is the perfect example of "you get what you ask for". I just want him to realize how special his spirit is and let him know his efforts to please are greatly awarded by your hugs and kisses and my praise along with the hidden treats I give him. (don't tell Tita! ;))
Like I said yesterday not to expect much from a horse when you put two long lines on each side of them to begin ground driving as this is a very confusing and often times frustrating moment for most horses. Mostly because they don't have the support of your two legs guiding them along, and the horse not being able to really see where you are and what you are doing. I wasent sure what to expect of him but since it came naturally to him and one time around the ring he was making figure eights beautifully and really flexing his neck for us he has his work cut out now! He is a doll and I would loveeee to take him as far as you would like. It would be grand to see a young kid up on him taking him to shows. I would love to take him to shows as he has got the best attitude about life. NOW that you and Carol have taken him under yall's wings and saved his wonderful life.
I can't wait to see Tita out again, that is a little fireball bombshell of a Paso you've got there... We ought to make a video of her breaking level to post up on here. I swear she's a hackney!

Thought I would post a couple of photos so you all can see who we're talking about here. Here is Alex with her dynamic mare, Pilotita Sin Par, a Piloto Sin Par daughter.

and Alex the first day she met Pollo....previously called Ziggy. He is the gelding with the partially paralyzed face that Alex purchased from Terry Wallace.

I LOVE that photo of Alex and Palo (formerly Ziggy / EZG Zapolo).
I'm glad the little guy got such a good home. :)

Terry, you wouldn't believe all that Alex has done for Pollo...(we're gonna have to decide on which is the correct spelling for that name...:)). He is being so very well taken care of. And you should see the lovely pasture the two are living in...they have the pond and tall trees and lots of lovely grass. Plus Tita gets to look at the stallions all day long...LOL.
Like Alex said, Sarah is now working with the long lines and a surcingle teaching him to bend and yield in order to get as much circulation back to his left side as possible. She's also doing stretching exercises with him. His ear no longer droops and his eye opens and closes. The lip is the only main indication of the paralysis, and even the equine dentist told us that it is only cosmetic, the paralysis is not affecting his bite or his jaw movement. :)
