The PR Day Parade (Tampa)

Mom and I drove over to Tampa this weekend to participate in the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Ybor City. We got our old faithfuls (Tequila and Candee) all scrubbed up and clipped and subjected them to the craziness of the parade for our own entertainment. :p

I must say, we did have fun, but the parade was not as well organized as the one in NYC. We had to ride from our set up point to another place and by the time we got to where we feed into the parade, our horses were already hot and tired from traveling several blocks thru the city. :grayhorse:

Our guys did great w/all the obstacles of traveling down a narrow side walk, crossing busy streets, honking cars, people reaching out to touch them, and not to mention all the city "boogers" we encountered along the way. They were faultless.

Cheri Prill put her camera down and rode her boy also. She had Ronnie taking pix w/her camera so maybe she will share a few pix w/us.
Wild Flower Paso Fino farm came w/a few horses including their beautiful palomino Trote stallion Bolero.
There were also quite a few other Paso riders there, as well as many other riders on other breeds.

I ended up buying two pix from a photographer that was in the street. I think he did a pretty good job.

We read about the parade today and wondered who rode in it. The photos are really great. Can't wait to see some more. I do hate it when you have to ride through a town without any escort to get to the start or back to your trailer. Sounds like your guys did really great!

Maybe next year we can get a lot more participants since there are a lot of Puerto Rican paso fino owners in our area.

Yes, that is the same TyG horse. He is soooo sweet too. That Jackie is one lucky lady.

I need to get one of those for Parades. Our little podunk small town parades would choke if they saw someone actually dressed up for a parade. Of course was usually ride into town instead of trailering in:)

It was our first time going to the parade and we had fun! As Lori said it was a bit unorganized but we made the best of it. We had Tres on Veronica (performance mare), Blanco on Alei (fino filly) and I on my man Bolero. We are real proud of our horses as they did awesome considering all that was going on. Everybody had their eyes on Lori and Cheri with their beautiful dresses. Bolero got lots of attention from all the kids there and grown ups too :-) Alei did get the public's attention as she was going along with her fine fino step and Veronica was a real trooper.

Lori, anymore parade coming up?? :-) not New York, just too far...keep us in mind!

Whats goin on, girlfriend! Nah. Moved to North Carolina with those free-loadin horses...haven't done much other than trail ridin....the skirt & corset are here with me though. I've only used the corset since the last parade... ;)
