I got a call early this morning from my neighbor congradulating us. What, huh???? Took a minute for it to dawn on me since we do rescue I thought maybe she thought we got another dog. Umm nope, it finally registered.
I flew out there in my PJ's and slippers to see a foal a few hours old.
I started to panic not seeing the after birth. I moved Del from his stall to the round pen.
I ran in the house to tell Troy. I called my friend Kim who has been helping us since she has foal experience and woke her up.
I spotted the afterbirth in Del's stall, guess he thought it was a toy. It was all there.
Mom and baby are fine.
We had been checking her every day. No milk yesterday and her vulva had not dropped hardly at all. Barely mushy in her hindquarters. Guess she wanted to surprise us.
She is being a VERY good mom. We have handled the baby a bit, watched it nurse and romp with mom (under supervision and for a short time since the sun is beating down today and I did not want the baby to burn or get overheated.)
Pics/video as soon as One truemedia decides to finish uploading.

GREAT!!!! (and she beat the Bunny non-hopper!)
Now...WHERE are the pictures?????????????????
BTW - it was a great day for babies! My friend's Gypsy Vanner had a filly, and my friend in Salt Lake's Paso Fino had a filly too.
Great day for fillies!!!

It's bad enough to not have pictures . . . but not even telling us whether the baby is a colt or a filly! That's too, too mean!
When you say Legacy had "no milk" yesterday -- do you mean she hadn't shown any wax or dripping, or that her udder was still not showing signs of being full?
Congratulations on the healthy baby, whatever it is. Pictures soon, please.

No milk, no wax no dripping, it was just hard udders under there. No signs at all. She ate great, no mushy poo, no anything.
My one dog started to rip the door off the hinges at 3:30am this morning and I didn't know why until I found out she foaled. He watched it and REALLY wanted to go see the baby but he has to wait until tomorrow and on a leash. He was leaping up in the air with every step wagging his tail as he walked me back there LOL
Videos are taking forever sorry. :frown:

Good heavens! Maybe you need to lease this dog out for foal watching, so some people can get some sleep!

Nope, not PPR. She was a trade for TJ. TJ is in MO being a stallion there, we just could not geld him.
Legacy is the daughter of Wind Dancer and Firesong. (Rusel's) They bred her back to Wind Dancer.
Here is a short montage I did with pics and video from yesterday.
