Hey guys, I haven't been here in a while. I needed another horse like a hole in my head. I found a paso fino in rescue that needed a home. He is coming home to me soon. Yeah. I went to visit him this past weekend. I have some photos of him. Please tell me what you think.

His story: He is 8 yo, gelding, 13.2 or so. He has been running in a large parcel of land, 2000 acres or so for 2 years, completely untouched. His feet were horribly long. They got sawed off as soon as he came into rescue. Vet and farrier both say he is sound hoof wise. He was supposedly used in a camp like setting.

I don't know anything else about him. Please let me know what you think. I think he is chunky and cresty. His front feet are ugly. They need a lot of work.

Well, he is cute! Be fun to see how he turns out, and if you can find out who he is!

Well, thank you very much. He is supposed to come home this Sunday. I can't wait. I am giddy as a school girl. It won't come soon enough. I just have a long drive to bring him home. It is going to be a long day that day. Wish me good luck and safe travels. He sure is special. My husband and I don't need 5 horses, but 2 have needed us recently. These 2 are the best we have.....

My mushtangs are pretty special to us, but this boy will be very special. I can't wait to get him healthy again and start re-training him. He was supposed to be trained by Triple H Farms...where ever that is. I will see how he goes when he gets here. He is really shy. I know I am a stranger....these guys are slow to warm up to new people. My baby is.

I can't wait to ride a paso again. I have only ridden once for 5 mins. I was happier on horse back than I have evern been. I love a mushtang...don't get me wrong...but that was awesome.

I can't wait. Thank you guys....it is good to be back.

WOWZER...he reminds me of Darius too!
Definitely got that sabino gene thing going on....

Maybe someone at HHH Farms can help you out on pedigree.

Yep, pretty boy...love how he holds himself. Congratulations.

Does he have a name?

He'll warm up to you once he has a 24/7 home and some TLC.

Good job

His name is Dali after Salvador Dali the painter. One of my favorites.

I do not know anything about Triple H Farms. Do any of you?

Tell me more about Darius. I would love to know.

Thank you all!

He is going to be able to gait like crazy with how his rear end and shoulders are, the fact that is is like a mustang will take someone a good amount of dedication to get him settled but I am thinking he will have a lot of brio just from his wild back ground... Can't wait to see him cleaned up. Beautiful face and hair! How exciting what a deal...

Malvado aka Jose (appyday owns him now) was turned out for years as well. All it took was some reminding and fine tuning and look how wonderful he is!

I think you got a diamond in the rough there! Beautiful!

You are right. Dali does look like Darius. Wonder if they are related?

Dali is coming home this Sunday I think. Hooray.

Darius is my 4 year old that I purchased from Terry Wallace.

I'm REALLY bad about taking pictures, here is one of him, the blazes are nearly identical!

Does anyone have one of Bandito?

(Linda, if this link doesn't work, can you post the pic for me???? )

Darius is the son of Bandito de la Isla

and Serafina Que (in case you are not familiar, the Breyer Pinto is Sarafina's sire Precipitado)

Deb...I have lots of pics of Bandito....
How about this one...Bandito and his grandmother Lisana de Vargas (where bandito's sabino gene came from)

Do you think they could be related? I know my guy came from a large parcel of land in GA. Are there any paso breeders in the area? I don't have his information. I do have a previous owner's name. I also have the man's name that he came from in middle GA just below Atlanta. I would love to find out more about this guy. He is adorable.

I am just learning pasos. I have two mustangs that I absolutely adore. I have a yearling paso gelding. He is awesome, just not old enough to ride. Darn. He is going to be cute.

I know the basics of horses and training and riding. Learning paso riding is going to be fun. I can't wait. Yeah. I am getting a paso gelding...

What is the guys name in Georgia?

mustangrider
05-08-2008, 08:45 PM
His name is Doug from Griffin GA.

This is the guy that had him I believe. I am not 100% sure of the details. I have a contact number.

I wish I could find him.

I'm located in the county right next to Griffin.

You don't know his last name?

mustangrider
05-09-2008, 02:54 AM
Uh, No! I don't. I am supposed to get the paperwork and more info when I get the horse home.

But I don't have the guy's last name. Just a name and a situation.

The camp was supposed to be a kid's church camp.

I know of one preacher that wanted to start something like that, but his name wasn't Doug. His horses were all wild & never touched. How he thought they would be good for kids I'll never know:confused:

mustangrider

If you could get me that preacher's name or the church, I will compare it to what I get this Sunday. Thank you very much. I will also post details as I get them. I think together, we can track down all of the information.

pnalley

I'll try to track his name down & PM it to you. I remember when he moved he had to have someone come rope his horses they were so wild.

mustangrider

Doesn't sound like these guys.....but wouldn't surprise me. My guy is fairly unsocial, but is calm once we catch him....We will turn him around quickly. Wish me Luck. I get him this Sunday. Hooray.

I got my new boy home yesterday. His halter is now off and he lets me loff all over him. He is such a sweet guy. Enjoy the new pics. I sure did.

WOW, he is cute! Looks to be in good shape but for his hooves.

If you get more info on the former owner PM it to me and I'll see what I can dig up.

I would also like to see his pedigree if it's available.

I think both you and the horse got lucky:v:

That second shot is terrific, you have a good looking horse on your hands. Good luck with him!

Did he come with his papers? I love those shots, you got yourself a goldmine there I think!

mustangrider
05-14-2008, 02:32 AM
No unfortunately, I did not get papers with him. I know no details either. I do have him though. He is settling in nicely. His feet are horrid. His left front has a crack starting up the wall. We need to deal with that shortly. He is chubby. He is on a diet now. Minimal grain....if any. Just enough hay. His feet are enough of a concern right now to prevent exercise and ground work. I am concerned about his feet. I will probably get farrier out this weekend. I will take before and after pics of his tootsies.

His progress so far is amazing. He lets me approach him, brush him, clean his feet, put halter on him, and place a saddle pad all over him. He is a good little dude. I can't wait until he is 100% sound feet wise....I want to ride him. It won't be too long...Yeah.

Thank you. If I get more details of his pedigree, I will post it.
