So the Youth Mundial is getting closer and closer and I think that is having a negative effect on the thinking of OCA (aruban horse organisation). In preparing for the Mundial they have come up with rules for the ones in the selection team. Some rules I'm fine with like everyone has to practice an average of once per week, more if needed. Fine, everyone needs practice so no problem with that. But now they decided they're going to obligate everyone to wear the same uniform which has to be sewn at one specific tailor. CONFEPASO rulebook specificly states that the uniform is a white blouse black pants and leather boots. A vest or jacket is optional. I have always shown wearing a vest. I have shown 3 Mundials wearing a vest. And sure a jacket may seem nicer to others, I've always liked a vest to a jacket and now I have to spend money to make a jacket for ONE show since I'm going to the States for college. And they state that as of May 2008, everyone who wishes to participate in OCA's competitions should wear the jacket uniform. *I* personally think that's taking it way too far. I mean if a white blouse is good enough for CONFEPASO, why are you obligating everyone else to wear a jacket? Aghh
And now the Inter Curacao comp. was moved to June 28-30, and Mundial is July 13-20. And while talking about Curacao at the ranch I mentioned that it was moved even further away and that I want to go and show. And one of the persons on OCA's board was there and said " Oh really? But that's too close to the Mundial, I don't think we can let the selection team go, they'll miss too many practices because we alwaus practice more the week before we go" Well..That got me MAD. I don't know how mighty they think they are, but seriously, not allowing us to go to a show ? Sure it is close to the Mundial. But my school ends on May 30th I have the WHOLE MONTH to practice if I want to. A week or less isn't going to make ANY difference. It's my last show before I go so I was really looking forward to it. But these people sometimes just tick me off.
