Hiya
Finogirl has asked me to let you guys know that she won't be around for a few days at least as she is in hospital. Her waters broke on tuesday morning only 27 weeks into her pregnancy, at the moment labour has halted and mum and baby are fine. The docs have given the baby 2 steriod injections so if she does go into labour it stands every chance of surviving. There is a slim chance the hole will seal and the waters re-collect, that obviously is the best outcome. As it stands she is on antibiotics until after the birth and although the first 48 hours are the most crucial, could go into labour at anytime. Whatever happens the baby will not now go full term.
The most important thing at the moment is they are both well, i will try to let you know of any developments if Finogirl can't herself.

And people think they have problems when pregnancies go over the time limit! ;) Please pass along our sincere good wishes for the best possible outcome under the circumstances..... Thank goodness, preemies and their moms have many, many medical advantages over their counterparts years ago.

I too will be keeping her in my thoughts....as others have said, there are so many things that can be done now....27 weeks is not too bad.....a co-worker of mine's daughter was born at about 21-22 weeks...and although she is still tiny - she is HOME! And doing well the last I heard.....
Please do keep us updated here across the pond!!!!

Hi Guys.
Am now home for the time being and am relaxing and trying to keep the baby happy, healthy and in my tummy for as long as I can. I have to check my tempreture a lot and look out for infection as well as watching for labour pains.
It was really scary, I just got up for a pee at 6am Tuesday and went back to my bed and thought, why am I still peeing - then it all dawned on me what was happening. Fortunately my husband had not left for work yet and rushed me to the hospital, but they could not look after babies under 32 weeks so they then ambulanced me over to a hospital in Portsmouth that could. The whole team there were amazing and so sweet and I rather hope that if I do go into labour in the next few weeks they can have a bed free for me as they filled me with lots of confidence. They take babies from around 23 weeks and have a good success rate. It feels a bit weird now, my bump has shrunk as they is very little water left around the baby and the poor thing cannot really twist or move around other than to kick or punch me which I can feel really easily now. Other than that the baby is actually quite happy - long may it continue.
The previous jokes about who is going to give birth first me or Cherish don't seem so funny now although at this rate I think it will be me as they have told me I will have a prem baby they just don't know how premature.
I asked my bestfriend to post to you guys because you are like a family and friends to me and I thought you'd also pray for us too. Thank you all for your best wishes and prayers, am tired now but will post again soon.
Love Amanda.xxxxx

So glad you are home now, that always makes you feel better. You will continue to be in my prayers till you are back home with little finobaby in your arms. I hope you do get to go to the other hospital, it means a lot to have confidence with the ones that hold your life and your babies in their hands. Just remember to keep us updated as you are family.

How wonderful to hear from you, Amanda! Yes, we are your family and we do pray for you. Great that you get some more time to gestate. I'm almost sorry I ever said "Finobaby", 'cause now it looks like it stuck, but I do hope Finomom and Finobaby prosper and grow, and that it all comes our okay.
Many Blessings!

Sorry to hear about the problems - and glad to hear you are home and stable.
Now, I am sure everyone else will agree with me - DO NOT do "anything", but take care of you and the baby - anything you "THINK" has to be done before Finobaby arrives can wait ! ;)

Amanda..... I just got home and catching up on everything going on and you know whre I am if you need me. MY thoughts and prayers are with you abd your Finobaby.
I too am lucky, since I had to pack for state and the next thing I knew, my sister and parents found me collapsed in my living room.
By the time Ellis got home from the dance I had deteriorated to pretty rough shape.
I completed my antibiotics. And still have the other meds to take which apparently I had gotten so busy that day getting ready to leave that I had forotten to eat or take my meds. I am told it takes a long time to get over bronchitis which I have along with asthma.
We left early Friday morning and although our schedule was full of meetings and Ellis calling 30 minutes at a time, I did pretty well Friday. Saturday came same routine only once again we were so busy I never got to eat until after 6 pm and I must take this one med with food. Sooo I ended up beingn take out saturday night via wheelchair because i had collapsed in the ladies room. Ellis got me back to the hotel to bed.
Sunday dawned early. We had to get the donuts by 7am be at the hall by 6 am and the meeting was at 9 am.
I told Ellis nop matter what I was going to get a real meal where I could sit down relax and eat. We did.
The kick off came and it was wonderful!!!!! MY kind of music! Rock and roll! It was so much fun, so upbeat and apparently the food hand done me good because the next thing I knew Ellis and I were on the floor jitterbugging! LOL I never knew I could do that but everyone said that wa
s what we are doing.
I got to dance 3 time Sunday, no problems. Checked out early this morning and went to see our daughter and her new home. When we got home our daughter in law made dinner for me so I would not have to cook.
I am so looking forward to next year. I know I may have to go slow but my mind will not slow down. I have so many plans for state next year.
I was glad to get home and even before we got here I was already thinking ahead about things that needed doing around here to prepae for the storm season. Ellsi and I want to get a jump on getting that done so we will have less to do.
And yes Lisa we still have fire hose to put in place. I am now using it on my stalls instead of boards. Sure won't rot , can be painted too. We have 50 gallon white resin drums that Ellis is installing water fauscet on the bottom of so they can catch water from the roof gutters, filtered through a screen of course. that way I can water animals or even the yard simply by turning on the faucet and gravity pushes the water out. Works great. Even with no power we still have water. I have also convinced Ellis to put down a pitcher pump for me that I can use without power.
I am so looking forward to finishing everything around here but there will always be something to do. We ay not have a lot of property but I sure am making the most of every spot I have. EVERY spot. LOL
I am a bit tired so I better let my meds which i forgot at home I thought that is until I got home and unpacked and realized I had it with me the entire time.
Soo I have eaten taken meds and kickin back watching a movie.
That is what you need to do Stop fretting, kick back and smile regularly. Relax!! My prayers are with you. I may call you in a couple days. Don't worry keep positive thoughts, Your family over here are praying and rooting for you. When life gives you lemons, make, lemonade!!:D

Thanks for all your support it means the world to me.
Am very bored but at least I got over yesterday...you see my Mum was born on the 14th, I was born on the 21st and so yesterday worried me !!!!
Anyway, I have to go to hospital 2 times a weeks for blood tests and to monitor the baby, in the meantime I have to check my temp, take antibiotics 4 times a day and also check the fluid I am losing to make sure no infection, other than that, I get tired just doing nothing which annoys me a little but am being sensible - so don't worry.
I'm even tired now so will go, but if anything changes I will let you guys know either myself or through my bestfriend.
Leila - look after yourself please !!!
Love Finogirl.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am ok! I am tough old bird. God will not put more on me than I can bear so each day is a challenge. And besides since the accident in December, I am so happy to be alive, I am not going to let the little things get to me.
In the meantime YOU are the important one and Finobaby. :) Just remember the Footprints poem. When you see (or feel) only one set of prints, you are not alone, HE is Carrying you and that single set of prints is his.
