Talked to my Mom a short while ago, my sister in law (recently relocated to Colorado).....the town next to hers was hit by at tornado! She and her kids are fine, I can't imagine how she felt.....we don't normally get tornados in NY/Ma!

They showed it on our news. The funnel was over a mile wide. It was pretty awesome. They said there was one death and they are still counting the injured.

Eastern Colorado is a lot like Kansas and Nebraska, flat farm land. They get quite a few tornadoes. Most western states are tornado-free - most of the time. There are two recorded tornadoes in Utah. The mountains usually break up storms before they can form funnel clouds.

We do get water spouts out on the Great Salt Lake.

This is a very energetic storm system (we got 1.14" of rain this morning) and is heading east.
