Other then his missing tail he's is awesome. The babies eye's look odd. Is that just another version of camera "red eye"?

My first theory - maybe papa is hiding some splash (notice that he has a partly blue eye) and that results in the baby having blue eyes. As for the color, mom has something more than roan going on...
I am asking to color gurus so we shall see what they say.
EDIT - I am waaaaaaay off, his eyes are blue but not the blue that comes from a white pattern. Apparently this foal is a homozygous pearl.

Mel - that is what others are thinking....here is the link to the post on fuglyhorse - http://fhotd64476.yuku.com/topic/4873 - the foal is in Europe too......just a wild looking color!!!!
The eyes are supposedly a funky kind of blue too....

Is it just me??? That is by far one of the most homely foals I have ever seen!
Everybody seems so interested in his eye color that they seem to overlook his horrible neck! I know that drafts have thick necks but this colt has a horribly SHORT and ugly neck. He looks deformed.

Draft foals do appear a bit strange if you're not used to seeing them. They are not put together the same as "light breed" horses' offspring. Their necks are stubby, as are their legs.
It looks to me like the sire has amber colored eyes. Which would indicate he carries some sort of dilution gene. The mare "technically" isn't a roan. Roans have a uniform mixture of white hairs. This mare has characteristics of a sabino, or rabicano. So, combine her color genteics with that of the sire and you get something strange. It will be difficult to tell what color the foal really is untill it sheds it's baby hair. Even then, without genetic testing, it may be hard to pinpoint the foal's excact color.
He's strange looking, but still cute. Kind of reminds me of a stuffed horse I used to have. Huggable.

D.,
No disrespect intended but I still think that draft foal is disfigured. Heavy breed or light breed... nothing should have such a horrible neck!

Not sure of his breeding as I do not deal in drafts very muchd, but overall horse wise he is very well put together. Especially for his intended job. Nice stout neck, short coupling for good pull, bone is beautiful, and a very nice shoulder. This is an overall very nice horse for any breed. He may not have the length of neck you are used to but he is very, very well put together.

ASB, are you talking about the foal or the stallion? I found the foal hard to look at, too. I have seen a lot of draft foals and that one is funny looking.

I didn't look at the foal before, I was just going by the picture on here of the Sire. I actually didn't notice the link until I went back and really looked.
As for the foal, it looks as though he should be fine when he grows up. Alot of horses can be very decieving when they are fairly, which he looks to be. I had an ASB foal that was very short necked and sloped seriously down hill when she was born. I actually believe it should be nice horse once fully grown.
The filly I had when she was first born:

Mama's neck isn't great, either, but really young foals are hard for me to call, anyway. I just hope his dam jumped him successfully! :v:
