first show him this post so he can laugh at the old folks who dont know its "cyber" hehehehe Im sorry couldnt resist...and then..money in the form of cash or gift cards. My graduation gifts were cards w/money , except the gold medallion that my great aunt gave me that was HER high school graduation gift ( I graduated 60 years after she did so it was from 1927 I graduated in 87..I thought that was kinda neat) I know money seems impersonal but if he is going to school or saving for a car (lol) he can use it for that ( I took my money and bought myself a good camera A Nikon FE2 that I still have and use It was something I was really proud I was able to get at the time)

I was being silly about the cyber, lol. Anyway, He already has a car and he bought it himself and has his own cell phone and has his own car insurance. His Dad and step mom doesn't pay for any of those things. He does it all for himself. So yes, money will help him out a little. But with his trust fund that was left to him by his mother before she died. He really is not hurting for money. That is my problem what do you get a kid that already has everything?

Yep gift 'credit' cards are great... Beats the snot out of some of the extremely useless things I got for graduation.... (tiny cloth purse on a gold chain with _dress_ gloves from an aunt up north....) Ack!

Abejita, you just gave me an idea. I can get him a silver dollar minted in his birth year and have it made into a keychain.

A prepaid gas card....who couldn't use one of those these days? lol

But seriously, what about a nice engraved business card holder or something he could use in the "business world" for his upcoming career.

Lori, do you remember Jim? My husband. Well, this boy is his nephew.

I'm thinking along the lines of Lori. A nice brief case, wallet or money clip. If you're going to splurge, some luggage is something young men never think of.

A gas card is a good idea, as is a phone card if he's going to college or into the military.

Bryan loves sports but also love to get into trouble. He thought about going into the Navy. But has since changed his mind. He has talked about going full time working with Jim. But has not said a word since then. I don't think he knows what he wants to do yet. He is a good kid so I think but here his uncle talk that laugh when I say he is a good kid. :frown: This boy has been through h e double hocky sticks and back.

I worry about him as if he is my own son. I have known him since he was in little league. I knew his mother also. She was a wonderful person. I don't know if yall remember sometime ago. I spoke of my sister n law that was murdered. This is her son.

That's got to be tough to grow up with.

I'm not sure if you can pull it together, but does he have a good scrapbook of his mother? Years from now he'll want to tell his children who she was.

Bless his heart. I'm glad you are looking after him for his mom.

Another idea....a nice engraved gold pen set?
Or what about a commemorative gold coin or something w/the year of his graduation on it?

I also liked the luggage idea. You never know where life will take ya.

Gold coin that is an idea. I was think of a silver coin earlier. But with this year on it in Gold would be much better than silver and his birth year. Please keep them comeing. I will run them by Jim and see if he comes up with any ideas too.

Isn't that a shame. A dollar doesn't cost a dollar. That really cracks my rocks.:mad2:
