SC regular lowest about 3.59
Fl regular lowest about 3.83
Diesel quite a bit higher.
I think SC has some of the cheapest prices on gas because the governor gave us a gas tax holiday or something. I think it was around election time?? And boy can you tell it. I95 through SC is terrible. GA I95 is under construction or 3 lane. SC is 2 lane and most of it will shake you to pieces. I've had to ride in the left lane with the horse trailer because it was so rough I was really worried about the horses safety. I don't like taxes either but bad roads are gonna end up costing me more in car repair than I would pay in taxes to keep them fixed.:rolleyes::frown: I like the way our property taxes show exactly where the money is going and how much goes to each.
One thing I found interesting - about three years ago we had a couple of referendums on raising taxes. One was to raise it for schools and the other was for the library. Can you guess how the vote turned out??
Overwhelmingly in favor for the library. Against by a fairly significant margin for the schools. Pretty sad for the schools but very glad for the library.

NY - about $4.11 for regular unleaded (cheapest places), not sure about diesel right now but it is more.
Remember when diesel was CHEAPER than gasoline?

Not sure about right now but gas was $3.99 here in PA for regular a few days ago. Diesel was $4.79. I don;t understand why diesel is more when it is the bottom of the barrel? Just becasue we all went to diesel to save on gas I guess and the truckers use it so let's hike the price up!
This is all a conspiracy.....I know demand is more than 25% down now (it's working because we have all cut down on our driving).....so why do the prices keep going up?
Someone is making a whole lot of money and it sure isn;t the consumer!:mad2: The gas prices are ruining our economy.......

Now here's the funny one....here in the heart of Texas, in the heart of the oil fields, where there's an oil rig pumping in everybody's backyard, regular unleaded is selling for 3.83 a gal., and diesel upwards from 4.59 a gal. You'd think it'd be .25 a gal., since they shouldn't be shipping it in from anywhere.
Oh and the ole Beverly Hillbillies tale of Pa shootin' into the ground and "up comes a bubblin' crude..." and their lives are changed forever??? Not so here....you don't own the mineral rights on your own land, well, few do anyway. So even if you do strike it rich on your own property, guess what...the riches aren't even yours. Yeah....
On the other hand though...if they want to come in and put one of those lovely lawn ornaments designed to pull the crude up from the depths, they have every right to do so. But believe you me, they'll pay dearly for the easement to get to it here!
And pprpaso3, you're so right about the gas prices ruining the economy. I think about you poor folks that have to drive a distance to work every day....man, this must've cut your paychecks in half! :(

$4.62.9 a gallon for diesel here. Not sure about gasoline.
Went to the horse auction Saturday. Horse prices and killer horse prices were up just slightly. We bought a gorgeous pony for my niece to train for the summer. There was a pretty good turn out of horses. All sold. About 12 went to the kill buyer....most were beyond saving with leg injuries or other problems. Rider horses went as high as $1050.00 for the top seller (most sold arounf $450.00) all the way down to $10.00 for a bad legged young colt of weaning age.
It was a better sale than usual. The price of fuel affects everything to be sure..... I wonder how much grain will be at the feed store today!

I've locked in ton pricing on grain for the next two months... It'll save me some... Plus - with the higher quality feed, I'm feeding less and getting better results. One or two horse sales and we'll be in great shape going into the winter... just need homes for a show baby and a huge largo baby... :D
I am taking leftovers home from restaurants when we eat out and that makes a dinner effectively 2 for 1 pricing - pretty attractive...
Plus - I don't have that 'clean your plate because it's so expensive' guilt thing when we do eat out!

Guess what Carol most of us here in Pa don;t own our mineral rights either! I just got a notice from a company stating that 2 oil wells are going to be drilled nearby my property and that my well was within 1000 feet of them so some water testing was going to be done by a 3rd party and so on......
I am looking at this survey and thinking "I'm not even close to 1000 feet to these oil wells.." ? So I keep looking and see they have my name on someone else's Property? This is really scarry! I call them and they said "oh you are right'! I'm like....so that's it? Don;t you have to resend this notice with it properly labeled? I doubt if they will but this to me is not a good sign! I am happy to not be within the 1000 feet this time but I bet before long the guy behind me will have some wells drilled and my wonderful clean spring water well will be contaminated with oil.........so much for clean air and water!
What is happening here is oil companies are notifying everyone with "oil" on their property and and they are offering free gas to these property owners to I guess make them feel better. I think I have oil in my pasture too.......I wouldn't want a big oil rig stuck out in it though........I only have 18 acres and these other people have larger size properties. Everywhere here in the forrest we are riding trails and see oil wells everywhere. You can smell them before you come upon them........NICE HUH?
Those 2 new wells are located right on a public road.....so much for easement rights! They might have to pay the state for the right to cross their easement......figures the state tax here on gas is one of the highest! We have to have inspection stickers on every vehicle, motorcycle , trailer over 3000 lbs, etc....I will say Pa takes good care of the roads though.
My dad lives in the country in Michigan and he told me they are drilling for oil there too! They already found some on the property next to him so I guess they will be drilling on his property next. Good thing is my dad owns his mineral rights.....so he may do very good I guess. He owns 100 acres and leases a lot of it out for crops....I guess the farmers will get kicked out!

CarolU's url ;) didn't work for me, but cheapest gas is $3.84 here, western NC rural Appalachia.
"Big Oil" is just trying to pad their pockets while Big Oil still sits in the White House. Real bad timing, though.
Within a 15 mile radius of me (rural Western Maine) its 3.939 to 4.039 for regular unleaded. I don't pay much attention to diesel, but I think I saw 4.419.
Regular is 3.89 here and that is just outragous.I get soo angry everytime I have to fill up and even when I just look at the gas signs. And as high as D. is I don't see how ANY owner operators can aford to drive OTR!! THIS is OUTRAGOUS!!! Your friend,Mo

We're in upstate SC near NC. There is a pretty wide range here. Sam's Club, Ingles grocery store gas and Hotspot which is ethanol enriched are usually the cheapest and it's a lot cheaper in certain sections of town.
I just check our area in FL and found one regular for 3.79. All the rest are higher.

Well - having traveled through Georgia, central Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and back into Georgia over the past few days... I can say that gas - on average - really didn't vary that much in price... Low was $3.79, high was $4.05 - a variation of 26¢ or about $6 difference from low to high for a 24 gallon tank. Average price I paid was around $3.83...
However, the _biggest_ difference - by far - was when I simply slowed down.... My gas mileage went from 10-11 miles a gallon at >mumble mph< - pulling a trailer - to 15.6 mpg at 60 mph. I noticed very few drivers flying past me and there were several semis that were chugging along at 60 mph with me.... nearly a 50% increase in mpg!
The last part of the trip was a rush to beat the closing tome at Auburn and I could see it on the gas gauge - but - closing time is closing time and I _had_ to be there.....:frown:
