Coloso's Tiadora, Beth Worden's new filly.
We've got 3 inches of snow overnight, and it's snowing again this afternoon.

NO snow here. Looks awful cold there...glad I'm in the flathills 4+ hrs east! I can see enough of it on the tv up norht. Tia looks good...guess she is getting aclimated to moving north!
No new "winter"pics from me, sun is in and out today...and I need to go round up the post hole digger for a continuing fencing project for E and/o a broodmare paddock.

Impala de Herencia, waiting for breakfast this morning.
Over 3 inches here, 29 degrees, and very windy. It's been snowing off and on all day. No horseback riding for me this weekend, aren't you glad you're not one of my co-workers next week?
Here's another. I know ya'll must be tired of seeing General by now, but here it is anyway. I was walking away from him (with a feed bucket), and my hubby Greg caught him in this prissy looking pose. 36 days till spring....36 days till spring....UGH!!!!!!! My house is way too clean for a sane horse person. I'm ready to be outside!!!

nice pics Lori! .... Is Impala expecting..she looks round!
I shouldn't had said anything before about no snow......we finally had a few flakes fall ...it looked liked small pieces of ash falling from the sky sporadically. I made sure the house wasn't on fire or something! I decided if it was cold enough to snow, I didn't need to do but minimal more work outside today. Starting work on paperwork for taxes (well trying. ...easily sidetracked.)

Nice pic of General , he is HANDSOME!
Thanks, everyone!
Impala is not expecting, unfortunately. We bred her this past spring, and had her palpated again this past fall because she is so round. I barely feed her, and she still looks like a bowling ball with legs. She doesn't have a cresty neck or a bulge at her tailbone, though, she's just "round". She only gets 1 1/2 lbs of reliance 12% feed a day, and unlimited grass hay (fescue mix, not a rich hay, either). I think she's a candidate for the "Pasos are easy keepers" club.
Erin, you are so right about General being sly. He tests me alot, and keeps me on my toes. A few weeks ago, he decided he wouldn't be caught in the pasture, after years of walking up to me. What a pain! Back to the round pen we went, and now he comes to me again. Men. Hrumph.

Oh Lori - THANK YOU for the pics. Tia looks just like my Solona mare but different color. I can't wait to put my hands on her. As for the snow - I was west of it. Not a flake!!! I still have maybe 3 inches of snow - IN THE WOODS on the trails. I have been temptyed to reshoe my horses, but so far I have had enough snow so that I can ride barefoot, but it is some strange winter. My chestnut (Solona) mare is SHEDDING already. I mean big old clumpy hair. This is very unusual. Maybe she knows something I don't?

Beautiful pics!!! I sure could stand a dun or two here.. that will have to wait a loooooong while.
Um, not to be rude, but, if Impala is so heavy, why even give her any hard rations? 1 1/2 pounds seems like a lot to me. Spring really is right around the corner, and gosh I'd hate to hear bad news in the hoof dept about her.

We LOVE General!!!
By the way - we did speed shows with a lady who owned an easy keeper who tended to bet really round and she said her solution ws to increase greain and decrease hay. It worked cause her mare looked great and not fat bellied.
