in order to show Moniece that it can be done, I am posting some pictures from today. My son came home from school with a stuffed turtle. He was supposed to have an adventure with the turtle and write about it. He decided that the turtle should ride a Paso, but, Mico saw the turtle coming:

and he ran away

then they all ran away

but in the end the turtle got his ride

he even got to pet Neita

and they all lived happily ever after

That is great. 8-) Love the turtle story. It's close to my heart since I have Snappy and Slider now. Perhaps I should bring them to the barn.
Your boy is a cutie too. :D

That's quite a story! LOL What you don't realize is that to YOU the turtle is just that...but to Mico it is the decendent of equus eating dinosaurs! Scary!!!
To be honest I think about 90% of what horses are 'afraid of' is play acting. They win awards in horse heaven for drama.

Last spring a friend I used to work with at the CA Library sent me a Flat Stanley.
Flat Stanley is a paper cut out of a boy whose story book (I think) he mails himself around the country/world and has adventures. My friend's nephew sent Flat Stanley to me and I took a photo of Flat being the FIRST person to ride my young horse Q. In my letter back to the classroom, I told them about the history of the Paso Fino and I sent Flat Stanley on to friends of ours who lived/worked in Thailand for another adventure.
This was a fourth grade class, each student colored a Flat Stanley and mailed it out. At the end of the school year, all of the Flat Stanleys were supposed to be mailed back to the school and their letters of adventures were going to be 'published' for the school.
My friend's nephew did receive his Flat Stanley back at the end of the school year. I'm not sure what the book is called, may have Flat Stanley in the title or BE the title. Now I'm gonna want to check it out at my library!

Heidi, that is real cool. Now Q is world famous. David included the last two pictures in his story and he read it to the class today. Of course all the other kids think it is really cool that he has is own horse.
Thanks everybody for your kind comments. It was also fun to watch all of them have a huge running fit before I managed to catch Mico. He was bucking and rearing and spinning and I was thinking "I am going to put David on HIS back?" But he was a perfect gentleman when it came time for David to get on.
