Has anyone tried a Cashel treeless saddle?
If so did you like it for your paso? What was it that you didnt Like?

Hey!

I have not tried one but from what I have gathered they really are not a saddle as much as a glorified bareback pad.

I don't know of anyone that rides one regularly.

My girlfriend got one for her horse that's "growing" so she could wait to get him a saddle that fits when he's done. It's awful. It slides all over, the foam just makes your butt all sweaty and you really need to put at least a blanket under it or it really makes the horse quite hot and sweaty too. She only weighs about 105 and it isn't stable enough for her to climb on without a mounting block. So, I would definetely vote no on it. However, if you are interested in a used one (only been on the horse a couple of times), PM me and I'll give you her contact info.

I have one and it is squishy and somewhat unstable but with a grippy pad I am able to mount and dismount using the stirrups with no slippage at all. I would always stop and tighten the girth after the horse sweats up though since even my Orthoflex will slip some when the horse is sweaty and it fits correctly. It's not bad for a really good rider but switch to break away stirrups like at least peacocks or ride without stirrups just in case. It is much better than any bareback pad I've tried but the foam needs to be more firm and less thick. It would be great on a horse with a naturally prominent backbone just to hack around on.
