YOUTH MUNDIAL REMINDER

Youth Mundial Clinics:
• Chetola Farms, Monroe, N.C. March 11th and 12th 2006. Call 704-764-8253 for
reservations and information.
• El Tomaria, Benton, MO, April 1st and 2nd, call 573-934-5352 for
reservations and information.

Please send in the registration form, which can be obtained by calling the PFHA
office or by visiting the PFHA.org website, along with the registration fee to
the PFHA office. While we recognize that we may need to utilize the selection
criteria for certain age groups we need to obtain actual entries in order to do
so. If any youth who has sent in the registration form and entry fee does not
make the official Team USA, the entry fee will be refunded.

Coaches: We are in the process of identifying the coaches who will lead the USA
team. We will have several assistants and one head coach who will be responsible
for organizing the participants from the various regions of the country,
communication among each region, and planning sessions for practice. Each
participant will be assigned to an assistant coach.

We await the decision regarding team numbers that will come this week at the
Confepaso meeting in Colombia. Hopefully each country will be allowed to
increase the numbers of the teams. While we all recognize the importance of
making this competition one that includes our very best and talented young
equitation riders, we do see the advantage in supporting the growth of the
competition.

Please visit the PFHA.org website for regular updates.

That's one rule I'm totally against. Sure the more the merrier but these people need to realize that one class takes a long time with 30 participants. The Puerto Rico Mundial had about 30 something kids in my class and it took sooo long and that's without having Venezuela in it who normally also brings lotsa kids. Imagine upping it to 15 per country, 15 Colombia, 15 Puerto Rico, 15 US, that's already 45!! PLUS Dominican Republic and Curacao and Aruba...that will be about 50. Now the ocho etc you get max. 3 min. for them...50 times 3 = 150 min = TWO HOURS and 30 min !!! And that's just the ocho etc. Then you will still have when everyone gets called in, when they selected the final 6 or more, then placing those...that will be around THREE hours. You can't be serious. And plus, Colombia the US and Puerto Rico has got 15 kids to fill a class with. Aruba, Curacao and St. Domingo don't. That's something to think about. Our Aruba representive went today to Colombia to vote against that rule. We'll see how that turns out

Yes in someways i do agree with u brigette but in other ways i disagree. I mean yes it would take a long time BUT...... It would be tougher competition that i mean if i was to place i would rather place above 50 vs. 25. The U.S has alot of riders and so does colombia and puerto rico. There are going to be alot of ppl not liking other ppl here b/c the other person made it and they didn't. It's complicated here. Unfortunately my chance of going are getting slimmer. I don't know if i'm going to be able to go to the clinic at Chetola b/c my dad is ill. And we don't know wut it is going to be like then. Good Luck to all who try out.

Subject: YOUTH MUNDIAL UPDATE

Dear Parents, Youth, and Friends of Youth,

Please forward this e-mail to anyone I may have left off the list who is interested in helping us make the Youth Mundial a great success. I know there are several…….

The team coaches have been selected and announced. They are as follows:

1. Sherri Teney, Head Coach

2. Beth Uelsmann

3. Carlos Tobon

4. Jaime Escudero

5. Christy Meyer

6. Robbyn Young

7. Diego Bravo

Others volunteering to work with the youth at clinics, practice events, and the competition are former World Champion Riders Shirley Rosario, Chrissie Schwartz, and Brittain Williams AND John Jairo Palaez and I am sure there are others. Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation for your work and efforts.

Mr. Jaime Suarez is the special advisor/assistant to the Youth Committee for the competition.

We have received good news from the CONFEPASO meeting that was held in Colombia last week. Mr. Marcello and Dr. Laracuente successfully lobbied the board to allow 2 additional representatives from each country to participate in each class of the competition. The rule had been ten, now it is 12. Thanks to both gentleman for helping to accomplish this change.

There are presently 3 clinics on the PFHA schedule –

Chetola Farms on 3/11-12 with Kathy Williams and others

Hattiesburg show on 3/11 with Beth Ueslmann and John Jairo Palaez

El Tomaria on April 1-2 with Beth, Sheri Tenney, and Christy Meyer

A practice show was held in conjunction with the southern regional show in Ocala this weekend. Dr. Laracuente, I have heard extremely positive comments about the show. Special thanks to Diego Bravo for lending his expertise. I know that some of the farms are planning practice events. We need our coaches at these events, when possible, so that we are all teaching the same thing.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING A CLINIC, PLEASE LET US KNOW IMMEDIATELY SO IT CAN BE PUBLICIZED AND APPROVED. CLINICS MUST BE COORDINATED THROUGH THE YOUTH COMMITTEE AND DR. LARACUENTE.

IF you are doing practice sessions, please let us know and please keep attendance.

If you (your child) want to compete in the competition, you need to download the registration flyer from the PFHA.org website, fill it out and send it in.

Thanks to all for the outstanding interest, building excitement, and positive support.
