I'll go check the classifieds and see if there's a spot to put this but thought I'd ask here in case some of you don't check the classifieds often (like me :-? ).
I'm looking for a rather large cowhide...70 x 74 or so, but it don't have to be pretty, just intact with no holes. I need it to wrap around my breeding phantom. It's not going to be laying across the back of a couch, it will be doused regularly with mare urine, and in time be pretty disgusting. ;-)
For that reason I don't want to pay much for it. Checked eBay but they still want a pretty good price for them especially after paying for shipping.
PM me if you've got such a treasure...grin!

I do.
I'll pop up into the attic by this weekend and drag it out.
It is NOT "couch quality" so I think it would be perfect for your uses.

Carol..are you sure you want to use an old cowhide? I ask because that is what we used to use to wrap the ends of the cattle guard so horses would not even go near it (smell of death, hide & hair)...or is it a tanned hide you want?
Just curious ;-)

Mine is a tanned (processed?) hide, used as a floor covering. Well worn.

Oh yeah, I figured you guys would have a heyday with this one! Heidi, sounds just like what I need....and yes, Terry, definitely tanned. I don't want one right off the cow! Sounds like Heidi's will have lost the "cowy" smell a long time ago.
Actually my vet has a beautiful Pinto cow hide stretched over her dummy, and hasn't dissuaded a stallion yet!
(I did tell you the name of Red's girlfriend, didn't I....PHANTASIA!!! Of course! ) ;-)
