Clean it out real good, and GLUE it back together with super glue...
Same goes for those nasty corner cracks by fingernails...works great.
Try to avoid getting it WET.

P.S....Super glue was developed just for that type of cut... it stings for maybe 2 seconds...then no more pain...long as it stays closed.

PPSS...when your horse gets a "nick" , like a little slice cut....it works great for that too, especially for hard-to-bandage places.

When they get a "skinned" place....and just knock off the hair...and you are at a show...a bit of like colored hair from the clippers, superglue onto the spot, and wa-la.... no more bare spot.

Anbesol to numb it, but warning, it'll burn or OW OW OW for the first three seconds.

Oh...ONE MORE THING...use super glue LIQUID...not the gel...

If you get it wet (like washing dishes or horsey butts) and it comes apart...clean well & reglue. Keeping it bandaged will help keep it closed...it will heal shut in about 3 days.

Appy, I read somewhere that the babies were sick :?: :?:

Super Glue! A guy my husband works with (vinyl siding) nearly cut his whole finger off with a saw and the big dumby decided that since the hospitals use glue as stitches now that he could use super glue. Only took him two or three dabs before he was screaming to be taken to the hospital!

When I had my Yorkie-Poo neutered..he came home with a dab of super glue on his "place" !!

I LOVE super glue.... ! It is not however for deep wounds like a finger almost cut off.... that is a hospital call for sure...

Soooo..tell me, did he get stitches on the finger? My husband almost cut the tip off of his finger and the surgeon put the nicest, tiniest blue stitches... it was beautiful work.

Seriously Shelley, are you OK? What did ya do to yourself?

Ginger

As far as natural stuff goes, honey helps quick repair, and if you bandage it (dried off, of course), it seems to regenerate faster.

Well "DUH" on me, I just read the rest of your post... never was any good at dotted lines.

Now that I know what your problem is, I offer you this advice...get drunk, plenty drunk, that will help. http://www.jammerbabe.com/flotilla/images/smiles/drunk3.gif

Are you cut on the side of the finger, side of the thumb..OR..in the "web"??

This thread is no good without pictures...

(NOW WHO did I learn that from??)

OOOOOhh..I dunno about getting "plenty drunk"...that advise seems to have affected Barb's ....Barb's uh, behind......................

Injured, in the line of duty! Have you gotten crutches yet so you can still get around? Personally, I think for a grass cut in the area you mentioned, it needs to be stitched, bandaged with sterile gauze and then you need to wrap the entire hand/wrist/forearm with a polo wrap. Purple, in color.
Purple helps things heal.
Well, anything that makes you smile helps you heal! ;)

Hey Shelley...on the subject of grass (thats Kentucky blue Barb, not the "other" kind)...

I once read an article of an experimental grass-growing to feed horses.
What it was, was a large frame on wheels, like the kind stores stack potting plants on in the spring.

Each frame had six or eight trays. Each tray took up one whole level of the frame. Each tray had grass seed in various stages of growth...from day one of sprouting to day 30(?) of harvest. Each tray had its own grow light, each tray was fed & watered hydroponically..there was NO dirt involved. Every day, a new tray was started with seed, and each day one tray was fed to a horse..it looked like a grass "mat"...they fed the roots & blades & all. It came out of the tray like a grass mat, similar to those you wipe your feet on...except GREEN, and tall grass...maybe 8 or 10 inches tall.... it was highly nutritious...but proved to be cost prohibative.

It was an interesting idea...except if you live in Colorado..you'd practically have to build a heated building to produce it... so the first twenty years may not pay for the building!! Oh well..it was just a thought... the things we do for HORSES eh???

Crystal, if that's true , why were you so quick to EDIT your original post ?????

Back pedal all you want.... I read what you originally posted and it was entirely disrespectful to that young marine that gave his life while serving our country. If you can't express your opinions with out denegrating our soldiers, then keep your fat mouth shut.

As usual, you just don't know when to shut up, and take things too far. Take all the subtle or blatant jabs at me you want, but I'll be on you like white on rice any time you disrespect our soldiers.

What a major disapointment. I was an EMT for six years and was ready for some major blood and gore. Gheesh, and this girl thinks she is ready for a Paso Fino show! Doesn't sound like she could make it through 1/2 of 1% of one little barn party. http://www.redphage.com/smilies/spit.gif

Democracy is about our ability to express our opinions even if they disagree with the powers that be and the mainstream without the fear of retaliation. Hmmmm do we really have a democracy??? I hope so.

How come I never saw you in that dress.... heck it was only 2-3 in the morning when I was there.... real party time....
Can I loan you a bandaid? It's only slightly used but still sticky on one side.... I vote for strong iodine instead of glue.... it's like good liquor, the more the burn the better the stuff! ;-)
