He's a beauty! Would fit in our place just fine! :D
Believe me, I understand the 'Vintage Car' business also! What cars is he going to sell? We are currently putting our heart and soul, and tons of money into our '71 911T Targa. A friend is looking for a '68 Camaro, matching numbers, but seems willing to pay. I will be glad to keep your baby, just pay bills, of course. pm me....

The cars he's selling are not overy grand there an 87 T-bird,and 86-firsbird and a 79 chys.300 (one of 4200 made).but he hops buy selling them he will be able to put more time into his other 2 that he really likes his 55 chevy and his 66 chevelle.
As for this gelding he just wants to get down to only horses that can produce an income if need and if we move we can take every thing in 1 trip it would bring us down to 6 horses our 4 mares, our young stallion and my retired western show gelding(he's old can't sell him).
Jibaro is an excellent show horse and is very smooth to ride.I hope to find him a home that can use him. He's not one of those super fine boned horses that are in the show ring not so ig give his owner the benifit of haveing a nice show horse but also a trail prospect.
I've desided to show in the April,AL show and I'll be taking him if I still have him for anyone that wants to have a look and ride.

If you are putting all that in your ad, then you are probably being too honest. You scare people away before they call. I think you could talk about his spirit, willingness and being green...and that would be enough. You can share the rest in conversation. People expect a spirited horse to be a handful and a green horse to be spooky - if not, they shouldn't be looking at spirited green horses!
He's a pretty boy! Good luck! I think you should advertize him as a great show prospect with schooling class experience.
(it's not the best time of year to sell).

Seren: I would plan on selling him as a show horse. To pursue the "trail" crowd will not work with this horse. I know there are exceptions BUT very few pasos are good in the ring AND good on the trail. Particularly, performance level horses. There are folks that want a hot horse on the trail, but they also, are few and far between. A large part of selling a horse is knowing your market share. Emphasize his show attributes. Someone wanting to get into showing would love to have a horse that has shown at this level. Remember, this is only MY opinion. If you want to place the horse with someone who will own the horse for a considerable amount of time and not have him passed from owner to owner, then look for show folks.
Dear Seren:
Your photos are wonderful. This guy is beautiful. Who wouldn't want some attitude with all that FLASH!?! My other horses sound a lot like him, green and spirited!!
If you do not find the home you want for this great gelding, PLEASE let me know. I have been looking for a gelding to do Geld for Gold with.
I am VERY serious. He would have a forever home because, luckily, I will have one of every gender ;-)
PM me and Keep me posted!

Your pics show ring pleasure attire and he looks like he could do well at performance or pleasure ... Lori West has shown General successfully in performance, pleasure and does trail riding all over with him. Most people want a horse that can be versatile, and do trail riding. Many people condition their show horses on the trail too, and to give them a change of pace AND space.

your right I should focus more on the show crowed.Thats really where he is the happiest.
He is orgianally from Miami,FL so the site of lots or trees amazed him it snowed the other day and that was also funny leading him out to the pasture first he did not want to spet on it then it was fun and he was very excited and played rolled in the mud(made a huge mess of himself) and of course the day is not over till you pick on the old gelding over the fence who picks back and teases because he's with all the mares and Jibaro isn't
I can't put the geldings together because Vince(old guy) was a breeding stallion till he was 14 so he's a excellent gelding but still has the stud moments and his very nasty to other male horses.

There are more folks looking for a good trail horse then a show horse, and some folks who want one that can do both.
I wouldn't give up on the trail riding with him...it would be good for him to learn to accept new things in his path as the same can happen at a horse show... a hat blows off in front of your horse, bugger trash cans on the outside of the rail, ad banners on the railing, people leaning on the rail, even a dog or small child in the stands, etc... I've seen too many horses spook in a class... "training" while on the trail is good for teaching willingness and acceptance of new things, learning to relax when asked and to flat walk if necessary, and physical conditioning overall.

I sure wish I could take him. He is a beauty! I'm just a backyard hack rider, though. He'd be too hot for my fiance. Bet he's smooth, too. Dang it.
Good luck on your search for a new home. I am sure there people here know someone who shows who'd give him a great home.

he'd be okay if your fiance liked a horse that could be ornery at times ;-)

Nicole,
I'll talk to my fiance honestly about what he'd like in his next horse. He learned on my Paso and Scooter can try you. What worries me is that I think Scooter would be a bit much for my fiance on the trails. I've had Scooter for several years now. He's perfect for me but all that animation when he gets excited does scare some riders. Our two boys sound like they have some things in common. I worked with Scooter to get him past his fears of many things. Now I can take him almost everywhere.
The horse my fiance is presently on is a 20 year old Appy. He likes it better, but I think half of it is the size thing. Scooter is 13.3...his Appy is 15h.
If you've read my posts and looked at my pictures you know what kind of home I have. We just intend to be racing around our backyard on that driveway and trailering to state parks. Oh,yes and swimming....lol He's young...so on one hand he could be a nice project for us to bring along. On the other hand, I've been very lucky finding family horses by being realistic.
And if he's a show horse it would almost seem a shame to make him into a backyard horse.
Keep me in mind if you don't find him a good home. I'd have to see what onery means before I could decide. I like that you said he doesn't buck or rear. Just spinning....we could work that through easy enough.
You can send me a PM if you want to tell me more. I love Pasos and I'd love to find one that my fiance could enjoy with me. (ok, you also know how much I'd like to ride him....lol) I'd like to hear more about his ground manners and how is is with other horses.

Just wanted to let everyone know I took Jibaro and a long trail ride this weekend and he was awesome,I had a lot of fun,we rode through woods and even trail blazed a while.we jumped logs, and did some rode riding. He was hot to start with but had no upsets at all and even had a mini donkey stud chases us (he got out of his fence). It was to funny this mini is as fat as he is tall and just brayed at us our 2 geldings were more startled by that. Also we are taking Jibaro to the April,AL show week end of the 21-23 we'll be there on that Thur anyone going that would like a test ride let me know!
He has really taken to the neck reining so I will be showing in pleasure gelding and might try western with him if I can still fit my chaps.
