View Full Version : Who?

Who poops on the walls, making little brown streaks as if a prisoner with a brown crayon were marking the days until his release?
Who chews on boards as you are nailing them up?
Who puts his poopy hooves in the freshly scrubbed water tub?
Who stands with his two front feet on a 50 lb. white salt block and his back two feet on a 50 lb. trace mineral block?
Who is the first to pee or poop in a newly cleaned and bedded stall?
Who gets loose and tears around the house bucking and farting for 20 laps then cuts through the woods to chase the neighbor's dog?
Who steals any rake, shovel, broom, hammer, screwdriver, fencing pliers, etc. you bring into the paddock?
Who has a butt fetish that cannot be quenched?
Who dumps the water tub over when it's below freezing so I fall on the ice?
Who could do all this and still be the cutest pony in the whole wide world?
Mojo, that's who!!!

ROFL...I could have guessed without the picture!!!
(did you leave "fits through holes in the fence" off your list?)
My theory on why ponies get in so much trouble is that they have the same size brain as a full size horse...but a much smaller body to manage with it. So, all those extra brain cells spend their time coming up with new and interesting ways to get in trouble!!!!
Wait till you try to ride the little bugger...I still have scars from Betsy Brown! LOL

And how is it that all those seemingly negative charateristics just make him seem that much cuter? Must be Pony Power!

He looks like he's saying 'Who, Me? Couldn't Be!'
What a cutie!!
We used to have a pony named Lizzie. She would trot so rough, my son would fall off, then she would run away into the woods as fast as those little legs could carry her!! The 3rd time she did it, I called the previous owner and said, 'She's heading your way. When she gets there, don't bring her back!'
She wasn't nearly as cute as Mojo, though.

I used to have a drunken boss who did that!!! He drank his lunch every day and when he got back to the office, he'd head straight to the bathroom where he'd "speckle" the wall beside the toilet.
I have always wondered how he did that...

Debbie, this is so funny (to me!). I put myself through the first year of college this way, retraining these little buggers! It started with BlackJack who was given away FREE because he delighted in dumping and leaving the two little boys who owned him. Those people's frineds heard about me and called and gave me two more 'rotten' poines. My brother went to Mexico and came back with a load of pony saddles for me...so I broke and resold those three, and then rescued 8 others that were starving. Out of all 12 ponies (I had one myself growing up) that I worked with only three turned out to be safe enough for kids. The others all went to homes where horse-savy adults could put them back in a head-lock and do an attitude re-adjustment. Four chocolates ended up in a team together.
BTW - there was a discussion on the other BB about throwing horses to train them..that is how I dealt with the 8 wild ponies...all had to be put in the squeeze shoot...put the Flying W on them and then let them into the coral and pull them down. Then we did everything in the world we could think of to them - especially trim their feet the first time ever. I have to agree with the man who taught it to me, it does take the spirit right out of them. Not how I'd train - or recommend training NOW - but it worked very well with those wild ponies. The other choice for them was slaughter.
Ponies are not little horses. I often shudder when I hear people say they are buying them for their kids! The pony I had as a child bucked me off, ran away with me, rubbed me off on fences and under trees, laid down and rolled on me...every day was a new challenge for her to de-kid herself. I won't say she ever got triained....we just finally got big enough to control her. Years later, I'd put a kid on her and she'd de-kid the second I turned my back on her. (and yes...look at me with that same wide-eyed innocence Mojo does! - IMP!)

Our mini is pony sized. She was given to us because she was so evil. Gee is there a pattern here??? For a year the only way we could catch her was to use a long roll of black plastic and three people and just shrink her fence until we had her. She was fine once you caught her and I could ride her with no problems. The first time I rode her though I couldn't catch her for three months. And then she discovered carrots. She will do anything for carrots including let 20 kids ride her and now is no problem at all to catch. AND she has the real princess attitude because SHE has BIG friends and all the other minis are in with other minis. She's in the pasture with Brandy and Vanidosa. That makes her BETTER than they are! She told me this by the way! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
