After my long night w/Snappy, I still had to drive all the way to Ocala Friday night after work. Got in after 1 and and had to get up early b/c I had PasoMom bring Tequila up to Ocala for the show. Thanks to Tampa333 and BatmanRox who babysat Tequila for a few days for me prior to the show. And Primroseddp for "having that church meeting" w/ him for a few days before the show. I had a great time and enjoyed hanging out w/you guys. :D

Alex did GREAT as usual at the show. She and Batman cleaned up even in the open classes. 8-) Not to mention her new Profeta mare didn't do too bad either. ;-)

Ok, now for my show results....
Took Tequila in the a/o Pleasure class first (I don't know why the Novice classes are last...I think they should be first.)

Tequila was a little more spooky in the arena in Ocala compared to Miami. That great flag at the end of the arena....was the biggest booger in disguise. :shock: Everytime we had to go past it in the class, he would sidepass down the rail. :roll: (Looked something like this.........////////////.......)Then on the side of the arena w/the box seats (that position spectators feet just below eye level of the horses). So T had a hairy eye ball on them as we passed. Once someone pulled the plastic tub w/all the ribbons in it across the cement floor making a hissing noise....T jumped sideways and proceeded to side pass a little more.
There were moments he was doing great, and then moments he was throwing his head around a bit. We ended up w/Honorable Mentions in that class, even w/all the side passing. Next class was Novice Pleasure. He did a little better, but not grand. He got 6th.
Don aka Primroseddp and I worked him in the arena that night w/no bit. A lot less head tossing, so we decided to w/that for Sunday.

A/O Pleasure class in the morning and T was much better. His collection suffered w/o a bit, but much less head tossing. AND he passed by the flag just fine. 8-) We still only got Honorable Mention but I was proud of his progress. Then Novice again....it was his personal best so far AND we got the blue! Too bad we were the only horse in that class. ;-)

I only have pix from Sunday of us in the ring now, but I ordered all my pix from the show photographer and I'll be sure to share them when they come it. 8-) He took a few really nice ones of us.
Cheri also took a couple of us outside the arena. I can't wait to see them.

Oh Lori thank you thank you thank you for the palomino pic,that horse is BEAUTIFUL,who is it?Glad you all had a good time at the show!I remember when Cheri lost her previous stallion and was so heartbroken and then when she got this guy,still a colt,and had high hopes for him.I am SO GLAD to see he did indeed turn out to be wonderful for her!!Ok gotta go back and look at that palomino again :D !Your friend,Moniece

I'll see and find out exactl the name of th pal. I know the owner is Michael Hinkle and he has that horse w/United Paso Fino right now, but I didn't catch the horses whole name. ;-)

Lori I LOVE your clothes, especially the purple number. Very nice. The clothes people wear in the shows here are so boring compared to yours, it's nice to see someone with pizzaz. :D

That's Michael Hingle on Caton de Ropa, by Prometido de Selecta out of Tarara del Conde. He was the palomino in the Prometido demo at Nationals that looked fino, although United chooses not to show him in fino classes. Mike also has an exquisite, well-bred cremello stallion that is available for stud if you have a chestnut mare and want to breed palominos (or buckskins with a bay). The cremello is standing at Don Primrose's in Georgia and I don't know it they are taking him to the Hattiesburg show or not, but performance gait and wonderful conformation to go with the good looks and bloodlines.

LOL. Barb isn't really working for us. But she always spends time with me behind he booth at the shows. I just captured the moment. ;-) However...I was hoping to get some of her old videos....and w/the help of Showtime....put some on DVD. :question

I wouldn't say natural yet. ;-) But I'm working on it. I mainly wanted the practice for myself in the arena to prepare for Grand Prix this weekend. I'm PETRIFIED. :shock: But I had a pretty good practice today. Hopefully I can stay as calm at the show this weekend. ;-)
