We didn't go to the one at fence - don't even know if they had it - because it was extremely cold, cloudly and blustery in the morning. It turned out to be a really nice day but they had predicted bad weather.

Oh well - hope the weather holds for the Clemson ride. They have tons of really nice trails over there. For those of you who haven't been to Clemson it's very easy access from I85 and not too far from the GA line for those of you in N GA.

Do you have a link for the ride?

Got the link - location is right next Garrison Arena where the PFHA Clemson show is held. Starts at 10 a.m. - $20 registration per person - current Coggins (out of state better check with your vet re: health for interstate travel). 6 - 10 miles. Well-behaved stallions allowed. Trail ride and hunter pace divisions.

As of now - we're planning on going... did one before and it was a lot of fun.... especially watching the big horses struggle up some steep hills from our smaller '4-wheelers'... ;-)

That's great! We've ridden at Clemson before but I think this is their first Hunter Pace. What time are you planning to arrive? We try to get there by noon so we don't have to unload back home in the dark.

About 184 miles for us... 3 1/2 - 4 hours with the trailer. Definitely have to be packed and ready to go ahead of time!

i wonder if we can come in the day before and get a stall at garrison Arena... hmmmmmm

Sounds like a plan. Depends on whether they have a big show going on??? Can't hurt to call. You might call their equestrian center because there may be some place you can camp and picket your boys close by if you can't get a stall.

The ride starts in the field just across the road from the arena - been there ( to the arena) several times... We'd be fine if they let us park Saturday night in the field... we're semi self-contained...

You'd think they'd have camping in the parking lot like at the WNC ag center. I just can't remember. We've been to Garrison many times and actually went to Clemson (graduated from Furman though!!) but don't remember what they have.

Full camper hookups are available beside the stalls at the Clemson Facility. I'm working this weekend, have fun!

That's a shame Lori. I know General would love Hunter Pace!
