Avatar help

First of all, I used the thumbnail picture of one of my regular pictures on my website photo page. It appeared to be the right size. If you right click on the thumbnail, it will give you the URL for the thumbnail size.

Now, when you come back to our site, You need to choose the "Link to Off site Avatar" slot.....that is what worked for me.....I couldn't get the URL link slot to work for me.....so try again and put your URL in the off site slot. I never could get a picture resized small enough on my own computer to try the first option of downloading from my own machine.....Bear in mind, that you not only have to get it down to 80 pixels, but the size can be no more that 6KB. That may be why that is not working for you. Check your KB size.

Hope this helps out alot. I think the key is the "off site" slot!

Got this message when I tried to download avatar from my computer. It appeared, that I could do it. Does a person have to download from a website?

I've spent the last hour (some people just are slower than other :roll: ) to make my avatar the right size. I didn't succeed. It drives me crazy, but I'll try again another time.

When I try to "show Picture" it asks me for a MSN passport info?? :-? What website do you have the pix on. Maybe you can see them cuz you have an account?

Pasolovr, I put your boy up for you on your avatar....this was a picture that I cropped from last years trailride. When you get your other picture working, you can change this out. If you need help...email us that picture!

You can also remove this avatar if you don't like it.

trying to upload avitar from my machine. Size is right at 80 x 66, 4mbs

It took 3 tries, never woud load from my machine so i got it from photobucket

somone might have already asked this so hit me if you need to ...


but I can never get my avatar as big as some others I see.
I can get 80x80
like it told us too. ( but it looks like a fly on the screen )
but I see soooooooooooo many others bigger.
and my little one looks so dump.

Those are probably the thumnails from photobucket. ;-) I use those a lot.

Avatar help

I have a new photo I want to use but I'm having no luck getting it resized on my computer.

I can get it 80 x 80 pixels, but the overall size is 7.5 so that will not work.

If I tell it 72 pixels per inch then tell it 80 x 80 it is a hair under 6mb but it is about the size of a fly.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Or what I need to do to get it right?

Leave the photo alone on your computer. Use the normal sized one...
Then upload it to www.photobucket.com and be sure to choose the avatar size option before uploading.
Then just left click your mouse over the avatar size pic, and copy the Properties URL. Then go to your profile on APF, and paste that URL into the Off Site Avatar spot.
