AHh I recognize that horse. I spoke to her a few times a while back after stumbling onto her pics.

Too bad he is 13.3 and acts like a stallion(proud cut). I think he is pretty.

No such thing as "proud cut"...I defer you to TheHorse.com for info on that...its a 100 year old rumor for the most part......

I'd "guess" he had bred mares and was gelded late in life...

Oh my god....that was my horse! I owned him for 2 years and keep in touch with the owner for awhile and they told me they would let me know if they ever sold him. He is NOT proud cut. I had him gelded when he was 8 years old. He is a wonderful affectionate horse and he had a real hard time after I sold him as he was sold 3 times in one year. The person I sold him to lied to me and bought him to resale for more money. I always thought he was 14.1 hands. My husband rode him for 2 years on trail, and we took him camping. I am going to contact this person to see what the heck is going on. He is 14 years old and his registered name is Mako's Golden Knight. His sire is Campanero LTD. He was once owned by Betty Klein. I sold him 4 years ago, and he has been with the same owner for 3 years.

Paula, I did talk to the gal, and he has been in an excellent home for the past 3 years. The daughter moved and the mom is paying the bills, and can't afford to pay the board anymore. The daughter's best friend has been taking excellent care of him. She is working with me to find him a good home. If anyone wants any info on him please PM me and I will fill you in on him. Mandy talked about him being spooky - he was not afraid of cars or trucks, good crossing streets, but did spook (not badly) at birds, or small things that might move. He was basically a safe horse - my husband is an advanced beginner and rode him for 2 years and did not have any trouble with him. He was not studdy on trail rides and did not fight with any of my horses. I kept him next to my mare in a seperate pen and he was a gentleman. This horse is very beautiful and sweet. He was originally from Florida, and I brought him to California, and the current owner moved him back to Florida. Let me know if you are interested in him. I would like to find him a good home soon. Thanks! Andrea

Has anybody looked at the pictures? She's riding this horse bareback and bridleless at a canter! Plus other great photos. This horse is something!

Here is a coincidence for you.

The Fugly Horse of The Day blog had a post in the last coupel of days for people to help each other find out about their horses.

There was a post a few pages in from a girl named Mandy asking if anybody with PFHA access could find out about a horse named mako's Golden Knight.

Somebody, not sure who, posted a page or two later some partial info on the horse, including the name & address of the last recorded owner, which was a guy with a CA address.

I don't know if anybody else saw this on FHOTD, however seeing that he was once Andrea G's horse, I thought I'd post it here.

The girl who has been riding him loves him and really wants to keep him. I'll check with her to see what's happening.

I am very interested in this horse, does anyone know if they still want to find him a home? If you know the people that have him, please pm me the phone no. or tell them to call me. You can pm me for my no. I am in La. and we trail ride all the time, so would be glad to travel to Fl. to get him. On the website, I didn't see any contact info. Please let me know as soon as possible.

I have a friend who would be interested in this pretty boy. He's got a twh or two that he trail rides and he's looking for something small that he can take his girlfriend out on. She's pretty green, but Jamison is not. And he's really wanting something that will be the same every time he pulls the horse out of the pasture, in case she doesn't ride often. He's a college student living and working on his parent's farm, planning to go to vet school. They raise cattle and have plenty of land in southern Alabama.

And he's very close to me, so I can always take him if it doesn't work out and make sure he finds another good home.

I'll let you know what I find out. She will be heartbroken though if she has to give him up. She's cared for him as though he were her own for a couple of years now.

Why would she even post him if she doesn't need to find a home for him?

She did need to find him a home - and after talking to her several times I told her that the best home for him was to stay with her. She talked to her parents and they are willing to help her out with with some of the board. She also was working on something with her boarding facility since she would have 2 horses and maybe work off some of the board. I think by listing him she really found out that her heart was tied to him and she really wants to keep him. I don't know if it is all worked out yet. I will update you after I talk to her this week.
