You just drive in and unload your trailer. Ppl are there to help you and bell hops to check your bags and take them to your room.

The vet's facility

There are plasma TV's all over the hotel and casino showing the events going on in the arena! How cool is that?
Not to mention the place has 16 movie choices at the theater, a bowling alley, and bingo hall.

Hey holy cow! That place is amazing! What do the stalls look like? The bar is pretty cool, lol can't you see all the people in there during a paso show?!
The tv screen is awesome too! Although the arena looks smaller then you would expect for the facility...was is smaller then Kissimmi's?
Great pics Lori!!

The arena was split into two sections for the reining horse competition. That will not be there when we show. The one area had ppl warming up and the other one had the competition. And then there was another place for warm up as well (which will be our actual warm up area). The stalls were ver nice and clean. There was plenty of places to bath your horse as well. I got some video of this for Showtime...forgot to get pix w/the other camera. But very CLEAN, and lots of staff going around cleaning up behind you and your horse. And major security walking around.
Just think how many ppl in the casino might see our Paso Finos on the TV and wonder into our show. 8-)

Its nice...but the arena does look too small for a largo race.

I think it will be fine. It's a little smaller than Silver Spurs arena, but still pretty big...similar to Nationals. I couldn't even get a shot of the whole arena that's why you only see sections. Where the horses are running circles is part of the arena too.

Looks very inviting! I don't see many spectators at the cutting event. Will people watch the events on the plasma tvs scattered about and continue to gamble, or come in and watch firsthand? Is that a consideration in attracting new people as spectators?

I am sooo excited. And not only do the Coast casinos treat you right (something that seems to be a dying art in Vegas), the food is excellent. All my favorite hobbies under one roof. It's like a dream come true.

You know Cindy, Sandy, etc...if you came together in one BIG trailer and shared expenses, it wouldn't be too bad. You could do Mile High first and there are several horse hotels along I-70 in Utah to rest and layover until you go into Vegas. If you drive down early in the morning, it won't be hot yet.
I'll be glad to help everyone find accomidations between shows.

OK, Carol, but YOU have to talk my clients into sending their horses to Colorado and Nevada instead of Conyers. And all the best of luck to ya.

I am going - already have my hotel reservation! My friend is flying in from Florida and I am flying or driving from San Diego and we are going to have a blast that weekend. We even plan on bowling at night - the facility looks great!
I hope to meet people from here - as the time gets closer we should set up a meeting place etc...
I hope Sandy comes - I want to buy a bunch of t-shirts! And other paso related stuff as well!

Mensajera, will your family be showing there? It would be nice to see you guys. It's been a long time since we haven't seen you guys at Nationals lately.
Andrea, count us in for the bowling. My son loves to bowl.

I think the arena looks small just from the angle of the photo. In fact, it is large. If you count the number of horses in the arena it will give you a bit of scale to compare. I counted 31 horses in the picture of the arena where the horses were on the left. It's a big arena, certainly large enough for us and certainly large enough for a largo race. We had a great largo race at the Utah show with a much smaller arena. Only people who had a problem were those who brought horses that could not maintain a largo through a corner, you know like they should.

It was just the qualifying week for the cutting horses, so they expected there to be better attendance next week. But the casino made announcements every half hour or so about the event happening in the Equestrian arena inviting visitors to attend. And you could see the event happening in the TVs from the casino, bars, and concession stands. (I could even see the screen at the bar from where I ate breakfast) I am told that if we asked, we could also have them in the throughout the vendor area so you don't miss a thing while shopping (or manning the both 8-) ) So advertisers/sponsors would get that much more exposure as well.

So Barb, does that mean your going to Vegas instead of Perry this year? ;-)
Now Lori, you need to wear one of your "Lori shirts" and make sure to get in front of the cameras and I am sure some of the gamblers will wander over to see the real you  Now if they have enough complimentary drinks before they come to the show they just might end up buying a paso or two....

Since they do take bets on horse racing there...I tought it'd real funny to start taking bets on the fino classes. We'd make a killing until they realize the showest one usually wins.
