First FOSH 2006 Clinic Date Announced
Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH) has announced the date of its first 2006 sound and natural clinic for gaited horses. Plantation Walking Horses of Maryland (PWHM) and Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH) will present "B.L.E.S.S. Your Gaited Horse", a two day gait improvement clinic by Bucky and Nancy Sparks of Cortez, CO. The event will be held on March 25th and 26th, 2006, at Buck's Haven Farm in Highland, MD.
The training methods used by the Sparks are deeply influenced by classical training and dressage, which over time have been adapted to the unique needs of the gaited horse. The goal is to optimize gaits through achieving Balance, Looseness, Engagement, Softness and Soundness - "B.L.E.S.S." Their approach to training is device and cruelty free, relying on sound training principles which are easily learned and practiced, enabling the rider to train their own horse.
The cost for this clinic will be $150 for both days, per horse/rider pair. Stall fee will be $25 for the weekend. Auditors are welcome, and may attend for one day for $25, or both days for $40. Lunch will be available on the grounds.
The clinic will be limited to 12 horses/riders, and the sponsors expect the spaces to sell out quickly. For more information or to obtain a registration form, contact Louise Semancik at 410-329-3940 or Keith Dane at 410-795-6144. Further information and a downloadable registration form may also be found at the PWHM website.
