Hello,

I'm new to Paso Finos and just got Lider de Tupac on May 30th. I just found out that Lider's gaits are Trote, Trocha and Galope. Can someone please explain these to me? Lider's father is Tupac Maruc.

Where can I find more info on Lider and his father?

Thanks!

Lucky you. Is he out of Tupac de Amaru?
Trote and trocha r the diagonal gaited pasos from colombia. (In colombia they have 3 modalities under the Paso horse.)
Check out ATTA for more info. Www.usatta.org

TUPAC AMARÚ: another one of the greatest Colombian horses of all time, considered by equine critics as the “trochador phenomenon of the century", by its polished movements, its phenotype and by its determination, it was born in 1978, son of Medellín, a galopero trochador grandson of Don Danilo and La Chula II, a Colombian classic fino mare.

It was an incomparable horse in the tracks, obtained his I title of Champion of Champions in 1985, was I magnificent producer, with great force of genetic transmission. - from colombian equine association www.fedequinas.org

A video of Tupac Amaru, he was really a remarkable horse, really beautiful.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Welcome to the wonderful world of the diagonal paso horses! Tupac Amaru, excellent bloodlines I am told. I will contact a friend who may be able to answer some of your questions about him.

Before I go any further tho, I have to wonder: Were you told this horse was NOT a Paso Fino???? I hope to *** that whom ever you bought this horse from made it very clear to you that this horse, while being one of the Paso horses, was not a Paso Fino. The Paso Fino is very different in the way it moves. The reason I ask, is because I would hope you are not disappointed that your new boy doesn't Paso Fino. lol. Trote, Trocha and Galope are all such fun! But, I believe in 'truth in advertising' so to speak...and if you thought you were buying a Paso Fino, well, then that just isn't right...

Anyway, please post pictures when you can! Would love to see them! Most of the people who own Trote y Galopes and Trocha horses also own Paso Finos. Have fun getting to know your boy! Congrats again!

David thank you for posting this information about the sire of her horse Tupac Amaru. Yes, he was special. Most of his offspring were registered as Trocha. Raven I would be happy to help you with your horse's information if you would like you can email me his full name and registration number, what association he is registered with to [email protected]
A trainer friend of mine saw him "perform" all the gaits and in reverse and he said he got chills from watching this horse. He said he was one of the best horses he has ever seen.

Congratulations on your new horse.
