A neighbor has moved off and abandoned his 5 dogs. I had no idea that he had moved or that the dogs were in such horrible condition. My boarder saw them in the road and stopped to feed them. She wound up calling the police. With no animal control their hands are tied. The Department of Ag will not be open until Tuesday since it is a holiday weekend. One dog has starved to death, we went back to bury him and the police must have gone back on their own time to bury him. Currently there is 1 dog that will most likely be dead by Monday morning. One big dog that has a hole in his shoulder about the size of a man’s fist, very infected. We have treated the best we could. One pregnant female teenager, she didn’t show up this morning so I don’t know if she went off to die or whelp. And one really bony male teenager dog.
Do you anyone that would be interested in rehabbing a dog in dire need? I’d like to be able to take the dog with the bad wound, but we are feeding 8 horses, 9 dogs (7 are strays) and 5 cats. With Donald out of work, we just don’t have the funds to take this on. That said we can’t watch without doing something. We are going over 2 x daily & feeding and giving water (they do have a pond to drink from).
Any help would be appreciated.

Please forward to anyone that might be interested.
UPDATE:
We have someone willing to take on the wounded dogs care & vetting. We need help with the bony dog & possibly the female if she hasn't gone off to die (she was in bad shape). If we can save them that would be nice, if not a diginified death by loving hands would be better than starvation.

Dana thanks.

Wounded boy is at the vets. Split Oak Farm stepped up and offered to vet him and adopt him. We will pick him up tomorrow and deliver to his new home:v:

C.A.R.E (Companion Animal Rescue & Education Inc) came by a few minutes ago and picked up the two teenagers. They need vetting and to be placed. The female has cherry eye so that will be an extra expense.

Once vetted they will still need homes. Dana if you want to donate to
C.A.R.E here is their information

I don't know what is wrong with people. But I know there are a LOT of compassionate people out there. I am still getting offers of help. From donating money to dog food. It makes me feel better about a bad situation.
I'm forwarding the recue info
