Since a lot of the US in in the grips of terrific heat, I am asking this to see if you have had any experience with it.
Tonight after feeding, I went to let the horses out of their stalls. I am trying to leave them in just long enough to eat because it is so hot. I noticed Nutter, the Paint, was swollen in all 4 legs. Kind of like if you leave them up too long and they aren't used to it...stocked up. Has anyone experienced this because of the heat? I hope that is all that it is! Nothing else was amiss, just swollen from knees and hocks down.

Bianca gets stocked up if she doesn't move enough, especially in this weather, but it's generally only her back legs.

"I" personally swell up with this weather, so it doesn't seem abnormal. You could try cold hosing her legs and see if she gets any relief from swelling? I hose mine off every night when it's 99 degrees! (Ugh, will this ever end? It's my punishment for complaining about the cold winter, right?)
