Had a fun day yesterday! I played halter with my little mini stud colt, and ground drove my black mini stallion, but the highlight of the day was introducing Red to the new breeding dock and Phantasia, his dummy girlfriend!

Sorry about the quality of the photos. He was a little cautious about stepping into the darker barn so I let him pick his own way, but once inside I think he was more interested in his son, Devante, in the adjoining stall, than Phantasia...grin! He probably just wondered, "What is that thing that smells like a cow???...an OLD cow..." (No, Heidi, we don't have the hide stretched on yet, hopefully this week!) Once the mare urine gets sprayed on her, he won't be so adverse to it. (I spent a day last week collecting that for a nice container of mare pee in the freezer)!
For reasons I won't elaborate on here, he wasn't able to be put in his new stall in the barn for some time (due to it being used as a hospital ward) so we were able to put him in it permanently yesterday. Was so neat, after he'd thoroughly gotten to enjoy it, he came up to both of us and rubbed his head against us. I felt he was saying, "Thank you for my beautiful new home!"
