I have not had any input on alternate dates for the weekend of Pasopalooza, and it doesn't sound like there is much interest, so I'm not having it. If people want to come and spend any weekend here riding and partying, just PM me and we can set something up. I LOVE having company to ride with.

Sorry to hear that Barbara. Maybe we can yet find a way for everybody to get together. I think Erin maybe working on Something in VT. Or perhaps we can all meet somewhere in Central MA? Little hard to commit this far in advance.

Keep me posted if things change. My suggestion is October. It's not a busy show month. lol Is it already too cold to ride by that time. Or should I say...when is it NOT too cold?

Well, Whaaaaa. I would have come and so would a couple paso friends of mine. So - Can we all meet at Brookfield for a weekend? Or Otter Creek?Let me know.

So why don't all you Yankees pack up and come to Florida to do some trail riding and see a few shows while you are down here? We also have the famous land bridge built so horses can go over the interstate and planted so the horses can't see the cars and semis flying by below. Besides, Lori and her mom are here, Barb P is here, and most of the other members, so you could also visit all the farms in Florida, get a tan, and pose for Lori and the BB before the mosquitos come out later in the year and make you look like you have measles

The Over the Mountain ride is September 29th - October 1st. It is a huge ride, with many options as far as length & difficulty of trail rides go. It is not an all Paso ride, but there are quite a few gaited breeds, so the pace can be as fast as you want.

There is a TON of food, and I only live 3 miles away, so HOT showers at my house as well as a warm bed for a lucky few. (i.e. 4 highest bidders) ;-)If horse camping isn't your thing, or you don't want to park at the clubhouse, I have room for a few rigs and horses at my place

The number of people is limited to 100, and the packages are very reasonably priced...I think something like $65 for ALL food and rides from Friday night until lunch on Sunday.

As it gets closer I will post more.

Tampa - Can't do it. Our horses are not used to flat ground. They would be largoing so fast we would be in Georgia by morning.

Perhaps we can meet in the middle, say in MARYLAND for example. Now, let's see...who do we know that's in MARYLAND?? :question

Lois and I were just talking about going over to Otter Creek this summer, it would be fun if some paso folks can hook up there.

Otter Creek is a solid 7-8 hour trip for me. Sorry, have fun

Terri - when you go to Otter Creek you plan on 5 days - 2 to travel and 3 to ride. There are plenty of trails to ride for a solid 5 days and then some.

I couldn't even imagin leaving my family for 5 days. A weekend maybe, but 5 days, not anytime soon. :-? I've heard Otter Creek is beautiful. My neighbor has gone there with her hubby and horses. But she is retired, no small children. Also my husband is visually impaired, I am the only driver in the family. He and the kids would be "stuck" if I were gone that long. But it does sound like fun.

Terri - I can understand your delemma. My kids when with me when they were small. And this was pre-LQ or even camper or tent! Sleeping bags and back of the pickup or in the trailer. I don't wonder none of them ride and camp with me LOL. I DO take the grandkids now, but not on every trip. I use all my vacation in the riding/camping months. No point in taking time off in the winter.

Otter Creek IS beautiful but it has become extremely crowed in the past 5-6 years. I suppose that is the way with all the trail systems that are nice, tho.

I do think it would be lots of fun to get together with all you guys, it is just that a 5 day horsey vacation is just a little ambitious for me at this point in my life. My two youngest kids would probably enjoy it, David is 7 and loves the outdoors. He also loves the horses and is just off the lead line in the ring. He mainly cortoes around whereever Mico feels like going, but seems to really like to do it. Chrissy is 14 (tomorrow) and loves to ride. My two older kids wouldn't see it as a vacation. Ben (15) likes the horses but is very allergic and Jackie (19) would only vacation with us if it involved a beach in St. Thomas. The real issue is my hubby. He is not a horse person. He likes them well enough, just like the dogs and cats, but would not want to vacation with them. I could probably talk him into it if I begged and pleaded, but he would be doing it as a favor to me and not because he wants to. He once told me that his idea of a vacation would be to get away from the horses. He didn't say that in any mean way, just that is not what he would prefer to do. Plus I would have to figure out who would take care of the rest of the horses and dogs.
So for this year I need to stick relatively close by. A weekend here or there is certainly possible. We have nice long summer ahead of us. Maybe we can set something up in the middle. Say Western Mass?
But make sure you take lots of pictures of Otter Creek, I will be with you in spirit.
