PASOLUVR

[b] Hi! I am from AZ and have a 6 year old half Paso named Thunder. I have had him since he was 18 months old and trained him myself. In 2004 I was riding with some friends when they noticed he was walking lateral. He had an unusal walk but didn't start doing it under saddle until I started collecting him up better. See I learned how to ride on him, I hadn't ever riden except a few times on my older Arab mare. So really I was a green rider on a green horse and as I got better at riding he became more confident and gradually started gaiting out. Anyway now we do team penning, ranch work, barrels, poles and some jumping.

Welcome to the forum, glad you could join the family.
That is pretty awesome that you being a green rider did so well training your paso on your own. That is no easy feat. Congrats.
Let us know if you need help posting pix of your special horse. We can't wait to see him. :D

Welcome!!
I have to tell everyone that I am so impressed by all the help and advice I have gotten from you guys on americanpasofinos.com forum. I have learned an awful lot and am still learning and doing my research. Will keep y'all posted on my progress and please keep me in the loop until I am also one of you , i.e. a Paso owner. Thanks again. Special kudos to PASOGIRLZ for all your help.
Incidentally, does anyone have any ideas about why my avator doesn't show up? Computer stoooopid - that's me!
Once more with feeling.........Thanks again PASOGIRLZ. My avatar came up just fine. In case anyone is wondering his nose is not really that long, I think it's just the angle of the camera. But even if it was - he's my heart and I love him!

PASOLUVR.....if you run barrels, poles, etc...then we are going to get along just fine ;-)
I grew up learning to ride from barrel fanatics here in Massachusetts....they won everything, everywhere they went! Its my 1st love when it comes to riding discipline....and it continues to be! There's nothing more exciting & rewarding to me...
If you ever want to talk barrel racing, then I'm all ears!
BTW - Thunder is VERY pretty...looks like a cream buckskin.
