WE GOT RAIN!!! Glorious, wonderful, drenching rain! I actually had to hunt for the windshield wiper button--it's been that long since I've had to use it. We've got terrible erosion but I just don't care! We've got mud and I don't care if it's mud up to my ankles. Keep your fingers crossed that this 24 hour period of rain means the weather pattern has broken.
:yay
Can you tell I'm doing a happy dance? Mucklucks and all!!

Having been through several droughts, I know JUST how you feel!!! I'm so VERY happy for you all!!!
I also pray that this means an end to your drought and spring grasses will soon be on their way.
HOORAY!!! :rearing

We could use some rain here, too. Right this minute, there is a terrible weather system stretching from here to upper Kentucky...rain, tornadoes, hail. We are only getting the wind at this time, the rain is supposed to come tonight. It has been blowing gusts of 30 mph all day. Then when the vet left this morning, he says, "By the way, did you know there is a fire down the road?" Look out and the sky is black with smoke to the north. We hop in the truck and there is a horrible forrest fire not even a quarter mile away. Fortunately for us, the wind is blowing the other way. I hope they can stop it before it gets to the houses back there.
The high wind is pushing it mighty fast.
sigh...

You're lucky, Polly, we're still dry as a bone here. Everytime they predict it...it blows over. :(
Saw some horses yesterday in a pasture as I drove up to my vet's office that looked pretty bad. One was a yearling buckskin colt, or he could've been a two year old. He'll probably be stunted.
I don't really know what's going to happen here. We're still ok...for the time being.
People ask me if I'm going to breed any horses....not if it doesn't start to rain real soon. Doubt if anyone around here is going to breed. Even my vet is not breeding any of her cutting horses or roping horses this year.
I will say though, Polly, I'm happy for you...you guys deserve it!

Barbara...that was one of the weekends they were predicting five days of rain straight...well, it turned out we got half a day of rain with about two-tenths of an inch of moisture...not even enough to wet the ground clear through.
Keep praying, guys...we need it. I love ya for it! Thanks!

 I know I shouldn't laugh - but if you really want MUD - I will gladly give you some -
We do need the rain, but it was dense fog, rain and cold today! If this is spring I want winter back until it decides to stay warm ! We've had over an inch - but are 12 inches short for the season!
What is bad - is the ground is still frozen about 2 ro 3 inches down - so it isn't really soaking in ,which is what we need - we have flood warnings
Not to worry - I live on top pf the hill ;-)
