Here is a columbian pad, I was thinking of going black like the pic above but found this red one!!

Should I go for the red instead?? It does look in better shape than the black.. I just dont know if the color is right for storm..

Here is a black one:

I would go with Black, it accents the horses black points, the red might clash too much. Beautiful saddle -and of course the horse too!

That's tough because the saddle has that red felt trim. I wonder if you could dye the wear leathers on the red pad to match the saddle.
The black looks good with the horse, the red with the saddle. What color bridle and rein are you using?

Just an opinion...but I don't like those kind of pads at all... They don't form fit to the back very well.

You're always safe with black. And too much red does clash with the other colors.

I like the neoprin saddle pads better myself.
I always go w/black too. It stays cleaner looking and goes w/everything.

Thanks guys! I am gonna go safe and go black...
The red would look good w/the sddle but I think it may be too much color for storm... :D

Are you sure it's gonne fit the saddle? Looks small to me..With those saddles it's best to get a bigger and thicker pad.

Lori, that isn't a Vicky approved pad.....that's what I was using too and she switched me to a wool pad.It actually costs less than the neoprene....thank God she liked my barefoot saddle.!!!!!

The red is fine for trail rides and fun and Christmas and 4th of July parades and fun shows. The black, for more serious stuff where you want him to look elegant. Actually red looks amazingly good on buckskin and bays. You wouldn't think so but we use red a lot.

Kathy - I use the neoprene work pad like Lori has, I'm just curious as to why you were told to switch to the wool? I've used those before but like that you can just hose off the neoprene and keep it cleaner.

Personally I dont like the neoprene pads, on long 6hr trails rides they rubbed on chico and he was raw. Wont ever use them again.. Just my own experience.. yes I could have been the saddle too, but I bought a nice professional air ride pad and the same saddle it works perfect...

Now I talked to the seller the pad is only 22in long, so not gonna work.. I need 32in long, storm and the saddle are long..lol

I think black would look more elegant too!
