While I had Katy at the trainers he used a bridle that had a leather round band on the horses nose with two rings toward the bottom to hook the reins into. Does anyone know what this is called? I am not good at explaing it but maybe someone will understand. We use side pulls on our quarter horses to break them but I liked this training bridle better. And if anyone understands what i am talking about do you know where i can get one? Thanks so much. Andrea

Any of the Paso tack vendors carry that gear...

Basically you're looking for something like this....?

Well, there are several parts involved , but basically you choose a noseband and a curb, then add a headstall and reins.

We ride most of our horse in something similar to this. Sometimes we ride in a 'Little 'S' Hackamore' which has a curb chain, 'S' shanks and either an adjustable flat leather noseband or a twisted rope noseband. Not a lot of 'whoa' according to manufacturer, but just enough when the flat leather nosebands are being ignored... :-)

You can buy the bosal(noseband) and the barbada(curb) seperate and put it on any bridle. Go to www.casadosa.com Doug has all that on his website
