We had a fun time at Ft. Gordon near Augusta, GA this weekend. This is the third year for Liberty Run. We attended last year. This year was even better. We took Leo and Obi. Obi completed all three days of the ride at 25 miles per day. Ed rode him Friday and Sunday and I rode him Saturday to give him a slight break on weight. He placed 12th, 22nd and 17th. I rode Leo Friday and Sunday to 36th and 27th place respectively. The weather was good, although quite warm by midday every day. The rain held off until Monday AM; we had to break camp and load in a steady drizzle. The trails were beautiful with lots of trees, hills, ponds and lakes. There were three other Pasos on the ride: Cisco, owned by Barbara Vandemark (44th and 47th place Friday and Saturday); Lightning de Carlos, owned by Judy Clark (35th, 36th and 28th place for completions all three days); and Cameo, owned by Diane Maury (34th, 39th and 29th place for completions all three days). Every Paso completed its ride; there were no pulls or DQs. Great job by everyone! http://community.webshots.com/photo/61125232/358459595uFWhJK

What great pix. Cudos to the photographer. That does look like a lot of fun. The horses look in great shape too. Congrats on all the paso placements.

Congrats!

Now that we have leased some 40 acres of pasture - hopefully, the horses will have lots more 'self-induced' exercise and we'll be able to jump on and ride more - if only around the pasture - at least there is a hilly section for some extra work! Hopefully, we can join you all again soon for another endurance ride!

Yes, the points from PFHA can be awarded toward Title of Proficiency or Legion of Merit like and with show points if one chooses to enroll in the PFHA program It recognizes high points as if show points or with show points the more miles and good vetting judgement for being in best condition on scorecard at end of race yeilds PFHA scores acquired= more PFHA points

THANK YOU PASO FAN love your pics too!I forgot to mention a rider with over a thousand miles of rideing her horses bareback was indeed there riding her pony/horse bareback 25 miles,trotter/she used to do it on her TWH. wow! huh :?: But the real amazing thing was another rider a vet/chiropracter /accupucturist is in Parelii level two same as Obi and I and she rode her horse with no halter ,no bridle, no bit, liberty :!: for the 25 mile race and did very well also a trotter/apaloosa! she was so happy and proud and that can be done by using natural horsemanship at level two if you and your horse are ready! :D :!:

I hope to someday be able to ride completely w/just halter. Someday..lol

Natural horsemanship is so neat, I follow as much as I can. I really agree w/working w/a horse not against it and having a horse want to do things not be forced. Takes lots of time and patients but doable!
