I know I have asked this question before, but I can't for the life of me find any at the book stores. What are some goods one and where can I find them? I need them to be in english print. Thanks

I don't think you'll find books on Paso Finos in book stores. You will find good general training books, where the principles all apply - except for gaiting and developing the best gait.

A good book I have found is "The Paso Finos Owners Manual" by Carlos Tobon, which you can order straight from him. It teaches basic training through collection, explains all the tack and how it is used. It is an excellent resource for people who don't use professional PF trainers.

Maybe someone can post a link for you, I can't find one right now.

Oooh, oooh, oooh!
I have The Paso Fino Handbook I & II by Jennie Williams. You can order them from her website, ParadisePasoFinos.
The books are geared towards people completely new to horses but both books contain great general information about the PF breed, training and tack.

The best book i've read so far MUST be the one by Raul Estrada Londoņo.

Very nice book with tons of information on the Colombian Paso Fino and the other modalities like Trote y Galope and trocha but explains the methods of training the paso fino in great detail. It even shows the difference between the trocha and paso fino.

I agree, this book is excellent. The other two are great too, but I found them to just touch the surface. This book ref. above was a little more in dept for me. It was sometimes a hard to read b/c it was translated, but if you can get past the bumps it's excellent.

Thanks everyone.

Carol U, if you remember the web site you can pm me it and I would be grateful for it, or you can post it here for everyone to see.

I would love to read all these books and get as much knowledge as I can for when I buy Stella's Agraciado, if he is still available when I am ready for him. I still want to get an older mare to ride and maybe breed her, hopefully soon.

Thanks again everyone.

If anyone else has recommendations for me to read and where to find them, please let me know. I am quite serious about this breed.

Carol U, Thanks. The site is very interesting. He has some nice horses on his sales list. I printed out the ad and to be completely honest with you I was doing this Flexing with the QH's I was riding. It is nice to know what it is called. It also works. Thanks again. 8-)
