View Full Version : Man, is it ever cool to watch Rose riding my Emily!

This afternoon I went riding again (my last ride before surgery) with Rose. She rode The Divine Miss Em ... my Emily ... while I rode her "Taz". We had a fantastic ride.

The sun was shining and had some spring warmth in it. The sky was blue. The snow's melting and the roads were dry. It was a PERFECT spring day!

So as we rode down the road, after about a mile, Rose decided to put Emily through her paces. She laid the reins over Em's neck and started moving her arms up and around. Em was steady as a rock. I mentioned that I used to be able to move Em around with my legs, and so Rose started trying. It was truly a pleasure to ride behind them and watch Em weave across the road and back to the touch of Rose's legs! Em responded to Rose's voice commands and her leg commands. They were poetry in motion!

She rode Em like that for over a mile! It was most enjoyable to watch.

Me? I rode Taz like a pro! We did really well, and I am feeling very confident now. As Rose commented, we're about ready to take on trails through the forest. I agree.

Now I just have to get through surgery and get back in the saddle! Cross your fingers for us.

You don't realize just how beautiful they are until you see someone else ride them. So glad you enjoyed yourself! We're looking for your rapid recovery and back in the saddle again!!!

Fingers crossed for you Jane. Sometimes I feel like the time I spend with my horses and nature are like medicine for my soul. It sounds like you had that kind of ride today.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers and I am sure back in the saddle in no time at all.

Jane went in to the hospital for some pre-op work today. She will be back at the hospital tomorrow morning (Friday) for the actual sugery. If all goes well she will be released Saturday. Then it will be a while before all the tests are done and she knows how agressive her cancer is. After they know more about the cancer then they can decide what type of treatment she needs.

We have all our fingers and toes crossed in my house hold! Lots of prayes being said also. We think Jane has gone through enough already! Besides it has been so nice to see her gaining her confidence back and being able to ride again! I sure have enjoyed seeing Jane back in the saddle after all these years!

Rose, Jane is so lucky to have a friend like you. Please let us know how she's doing. Sounds like you made her day a great one! She'll have that memory to keep her strong and to see her through some tough times ahead.

Thanks for taking care of her.

Me here.

Well, I am SOOOOO positive about this mess that tonight I'm almost euphoric. It is a very weird feeling, and only partially brought on by alcohol. *giggle. snort. lol.* Just kidding! (But yesterday I was a wimpering mess.)

I have this tiger by the tail!
I am going to slay this dragon!

Am I missing any cliches here? *grin*

Tonight was "The Last Supper" ... went out for a late dinner with my son (Rusty) and my man (David). We had a fine meal that was prefaced by a delicious bruschetta that is going to knock the surgeon on his *** when he smells me! *grin* Man, was it garlic-y!

I think I'll hang a sign on my boob: "Sorry, Doc! You getter wear a gas mask! We went to Sorrentino's Restaurant last night and they went overboard on the garlic."

Whaddya think? Will that fly?
