what is bandwidth anyway?

Pasogirlz

Its like space. Pix, video, chat, and smilies eat it up. ;-) Then we run out of space.
I dont really care for deleting lots of stuff, and I don't have time to go thru and delete just some things....so I prefer to get more space for us.... at least for now.

So you could probably archive stuff and it would help?

Work, someone said work! I was board all morning long. I had nothing to do. Well, I did take winky to the doc, she has strep. Not good. She has to go for a consult on Monday to find out if her tonsale will have to be removed. I will have a busy week next week. Not only that, on Wednesday the oldest has to have surgery to remove 4 wisdom teeth. Fun Fun Week for me.

I have only found where it will let me prune topics w/no replys. Not sure if I can archieve anything and it still not take up bandwidth. It probably includes all my emails that come w/the site. I am a bit of a pack rat. I hate to delete things...you never know when I will need it. *not that I can generally find it when I DO need it.

Clean House, Missy. I have to sometimes or my comp will move at a snails pace. May not be so bad now that I have a new harddrive. Anyway, "Lori, Go clean your room."

I so many rooms...I don't know where to start. Is there a cyber maid service? I've never been much on cleaning myself.

Well, we are on the highest plan they offer right now...but something tells me there is going to have to be a change soon. They have been pretty generous w/upgrading us so far....but they have been generous several times now....I'm expecting the smack down anytime now.

I think bandwidth means the amount of traffic the website server gets for your website. So if so much traffic is allowed per month, towards the end of month you have reached your bandwidth limit for that month. So the website has been very busy for the month of March!

Pasogirlz
03-29-2006, 10:29 PM
I think it includes traffic among other things. But I know the pix, smiles, and videos suck it up fast. But I won't sacrifice our pix/video. ;-)

I won't say it, no, I won't say it. :shocked OK just a little bit, "I've never been much on cleaning myself". Lori, you should alway clean yourself.

I don't kow how much it helps, but I went in and deleted a bunch of pics off photobucket that were linked here. So they are gone from the site now.
Could you just go in and delete all the messages that are old? How many people refer back to them? Usually they ask the question again! :D

I'm trying to find out exactly what WOULD help in this situation. I'll let you guys know. Thanks for caring. ;-)

Lori, you could possibly set up a free website with tripod and copy and paste any topics that you really don't want to lose there. That way you aren't really deleting them, you know?

And if you need help, HOLLA!

Yup, that was awful  It's 3 am here, and I had to come up and check if it worked again. The fact that I'm up at such an hour has nothing to do with jet lag, I couldn't sleep because APF was down. ;-)

How about limiting the size of pictures posted heere to no larger than 500 pixels wide, or something like that. I know I am guilty of posting a lot of pics here, but I try not to post anything HUGE

paintedhorizon

I have a thing on my website that no matter how big the pics are, they are limited to a certain size, it automatically does it. It's an HTML code.

people may use the search feature...I use it......and it can bring up old posts that can be useful to someone.

Limiting pic size would be a good one to start with.

Lori, I'll find the HTML code and email it to you. Then just ask your ppl where to put it.

paintedhorizon

Well, it's just an ezboard html but I sent it to you. Maybe your board ppl can help you with it. Never know, it might work anyway!
