i met some wonderful people this last week. they are marshall & kim watchinski with Pure Pleasure Horse Transport and their driver, jerry huber.
i'll tell you more about their business in another thread but i wanted to share their story of their orphan foal from 10 months ago, Tipps.
i saw this colt at their home last week and found it hard to believe that this beautiful appy colt had such a rough start.
when Tipps was born, not only did him momma reject him but she also produced no milk. desperate phone calls were made for colostrum or a mare who would accept him.
they were into day number 8 and could hardly see straight when marshall got a call from a woman in florida and she shared her story about how she had fed her orphan from a round igloo cooler.
marshall beat it into town for a cooler, removed the spout, added a PVC pipe and then the nipple on the end that the colt was used to sucking on and VIOLA! two bungee cords kept it in place and prevented it from tipping over.
pictures are enclosed. Sorry moniece! wish this had come in time to help your filly!
