This is the saddle that I will use with it.

Now, question is - will the supracor pad be OK by itself or not? [/url]

I have no experience with the supracor pad but Janine Wilder does and has recommended it in the past. She travels and rides all over the country. She has answered her e-mail quickly in the past.

Let us know. I am considering a different pad myself

mel, i have used just the supracore in lots of 50 mile endurance rides, a couple of 75 milers, and one 100 miler. never had any kind of problem at all. i dont think you need anything else with it.

but the dressage model looks too small, does not follow the coutour of a dressage saddle??? It confuses me...

I've been using the Supracor pad for a couple of years now with great results. I bought the small endurance pad and have used it with both a dressage saddle and a paso fino show saddle made by Casa Dosa. I've used it on 3 different Pasos (all 3 were different sizes and body types) and have been very happy with it. I gotta admit $200 for a saddle pad is a lot of money but I think It's worth every penny of it.

I finally figured it out-

I stopped by my favorite tack shop - the Horse and Hound in Gainesville *shameless plug*

Lo and behold, they lend out supracors for test rides. The owner has one and said that she uses it over top of a thin dressage pad and it works great. It can't be used alone if you are using a dressage saddle.

She also showed me a really nice sheepskin pad that is supposed to do a good job of heat reduction.
