Oh look, she's home!

If I suck in my gut...maybe she will think I'm starving and feed me again.

Hey there! I'm right here if you wanted to drop a few pellets in for me!

Slider is so funny. He is such a little piggy. He swims around all crazy when he see you hoping you are gonna feed him. He just loves to eat. Snappy on the other hand hardly ever eats in front of me. *very frustrating cuz I worry about him not eating enough.
And since I'm updating on the tank...
This is the next tad I expect to have arms any day now.

This one will be the third full froggie pretty soon. I expect his tail will be gone by the time I get back from Australia.

And these are the two that already changed.

I have been worried about them not eating too. I have tried lots of things. Even ordered new born crickets off the web for them....they didn't even look at them.
So I finally force fed them each a couple minows on Friday b/c they looked a little skinny. Gave them each another on Sat. morning. They both look much better w/full tummies. I put two minows in there container last night and one was missing this morning. :D So I put three more in today and again one is missing. Not sure if both are eating yet, but I'm watching them closely. Hopefully the first minows opened up their appetites.

Can't you feed them canned cat food? When we raised Magpies, that is what we fed them..well, dog food. But frogs should like fishy cat foods.
Cute turtle pics. I've never seen one beg before...but admit I've not been around a lot of turtles. Our fish begs...not as well as the Oscar did...the Oscar would get SO excited, he jumped right out of the tank a few times! LOL

I usta rais Oscars and Jack Dimpsys. I loved my fish. I two African Dwarf Frogs now and they are alot of fun to watch at feeding time. They look like they have hiccups when they are feeding. They will also tag each other by mistake and that is so funny. It looks like they are fighting when they are only trying to get loose from each other.
Cute turtles Lori.
I don't undersatand why they won't eat the pellet food. My turtles at the Turtle pettets and the Beta pellets.

Slider used to be much smaller than Snappy. But he has put on the inches and passed Snappy right up. He's now a full 1/2 inch bigger then him now.

They are sooo cute. People don't realize how intersting turtles and frogs are.
I miss the terrariums and acquariums Kyle used to have in his classroom. Always something really interesting in them.
We have a red eared slider. He is about 12 years old. Lives in a fish tank and loves his pellets. He won't eat any fish at all. He likes to crawl around the bath tub when I clean his tank, and he gets to sit on our deck, in the tank of course, during the summer. Too cold right now :)
I did not think these guys lived so long when my daughter--then in Jr. High, said " oh mom, isn't that turtle CUTE???" Well, she has since graduated college and now lives near Atlanta, and mom still has the turtle. HHMMM. LOL But he entertains the new pup we just got, and our other dog would share his plastic swimming pool. Figure the dog was a 100 pound german shephard/ bouvier mix and you can see the unlikely hood of that combo :) We just had to put Baron, the dog, to sleep 3 weeks ago, cancer. SO we got a new pup, a german shephard, we waited all of 3 days, could not stand the "no welcome" home bark and tail wagging. The first time in 28 years we had no dog.
Pup and Paso's get along fine, and can't wait till he gets old enough to go on trail rides with us.
What would we do without our wonderful pets??

LOL Deb about you still having that turtle long after your daughter moved out. tee hee.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. It is always sad to loose one. But I'm sure you new addition to the family is helping to heal some wounds. And you are so right...what would we do w/our pets.

Speaking of dogs and turtles ... we used to have a Bullmastiff. He was a gorgeous big brute. 120 lbs, gentle as a lamb and all rippling muscle. My son got a large turtle for his birthday one year and the turtle lived in the waterfall in our solarium. Sometimes in the winter he'd like to go for a walk over to the warmth of the gas heater, which was across the room.
Well, you should have seen the Bullmastiff! He was TERRIFIED of the turtle! *giggle. snort. lol.* I've never seen anything so funny in my life. The dog would back away barking furiously. If I tried to take him by the collar and introduce him to the turtle, he'd literally pull me out of the room. If I picked up the turtle and tried to take it to the dog ... uh-uh. TOTALLY TERRIFIED. *grin*

I love your turtles and seeing your pictures of all your critters. That Snappy is my sentimental favorite, since he nearly bought the farm. But Slider sure has a great personality. I may have to get a turtle; I always wanted one as a kid, but a salmonela scare put a stop to it.
Thanks Lori. We also have 3 birds, a 25 year old yellow crested cockatoo, and 2 cockatiels who are about 15 yrs. old. Here again, the cockatoo is a year older than that daughter of ours LOL and the one bird was hers too. Christmas present for her and one is our youngest sons. Our oldest son had an iguana. So we have had our share of "aren't they cute!!??"
The dog, Baron, was 10 and his brother also passed away a year ago from cancer. Neither suffered, we caught it before they were really sick, one had it on his shoulder, but it had spread to his lungs, Baron was sick 2 days. Just drank extra water, thought of diabetes, but an xray showed a tumor in the stomach and he was bleeding into his stomach, as he was also anemic. OF course, all this happens over the weekend, so that is why the extra day wait. No pain, just was bleeding internally.
So now we have Max, and he is enjoying getting to know the birds, and he tries to climb into the cockatoos cage because the bird has toys on the bottom of the cage. I open the door to feed the bird and there goes Max, head and front feet inside the cage. The bird just looked down at him like "Who invited you in?" I am sure he will share the pool with the turtle too. LOL
Max and Lightningbug have been touching noses and Ladybug seems to like him alot. So we are all happy again, :)
