The dates are August 26 and 27. Mark in ink, big caps, highlight. This is it.
Location still to be determined from my last contact. Currently set in Ponce but this may change.

What we would need is close and easy to the show. And don't count on us for all the farm tours because it depends on the weather and how well we tolerate the heat.

Agreed Motorgypsies.
I'd like to see us group up in San Juan and then travel together to Ponce or where ever the show is at. Not more than 15-20 minutes away. In PR that means no more than a town or two away or in the next region.
For the farm tours, I'd like this to be as pleasant as possible for everyone--the farms hosts and visitors. In March we were inundated with improptued invitations, which was really great. That's how I got to see Labriego and other horses. On the other hand, the days got very long and folks got tired. Unless you are hard core paso fino crazy, the mind blows up at some point. Too much, too fast.
Fortunetely, the "schedule" was very flexible, so sometimes I went and sometimes I didn't.
For those that want to hard core type trip--that's another day and maybe with a very small group that can go from dawn to dusk (or earlier or later). Those are marthon trips only for the ones that live off of Goodies.

Do US health insurance policies and US cell phones work in PR?

Check your with your insurance agent. PR is usually treated as USA, but sometimes because it's not part of the continental USA, there may be some caveats in the policy.
Cell phones work depending on your carrier. There's two carriers that have an extensive network in PR. Cingular is one and then there is one more that I forget. I purchased a prepaid plan for my travel to PR in March. Frankly, I think that is the best way to go. Some folks brought their cell phones with them, but because of their coverage and plan, didn't work in PR. I bought my Cingular phone in FL, activated before I left and used it exclusively on the island. I was able to call anywhere in PR and the continental USA.
Another option is to buy a prepaid plan in Puerto Rico. You can usually find the stores in the malls. The couple I traveled with did that. However, the booklets were in Spanish only.
