Naaa, we're just gonna stay home--Not! We got through the class without disaster, just, I thought he was going over one time before we made it through the gate. He fought the bit a little, more than once, but we got the greatest range of speed in gait he's shown maybe ever. Way to go, Petey, thanks.
Good seeing you, Mary, thanks for the help. Any other board buddies here?

I had a ball. Sandy is a hoot. I watched most of Cindy's classes and I though her horses were great. Lori's Pal is georguse. And MG, thanks for introducing me to everyone. Tina and I had a great time and we both want to finish the show today. But, that will depend on what time Kathy gets home from NC.

Oh almost forgot. Sorry Greg, I thought you and Pete looked great, no matter what everyone else said. :D Congradulations on placing 3rd.

We had a great time acting as guides for Mary and Tina. We're already looking forward to the Asheville show.

Today Pete got second in Ami Owner geldings and looked really great! Congratulations to all! Lots of our forum people did really well! Too pooped to post pictures tonight. I'll look through them tomorrow. I think Lori West got second in ami owner 3 year old colts with her gorgeous palomino colt, nugget. He's sooooo sweet and cute and a big boy too!

Agreed, MG's, Caramelo (sp?) aka Nugget is just gorgeous and very sweet. I was very surprised to find out how young he is. Very well mannered and spectacular color. You should be very proud, Lori, and I bet you are.

Bailey, it was great meeting you and Tina! Greg, AWESOME on your ride with Pete! Does anybody else think it's funny that Sandy's hubby has the show bug? HE HE HE HE!!!! I really enjoy the eye roll I get from Sandy when I mention it. MotorG's, it's always fun to see ya'll. It was a nice show. The weather was warm and inviting. I think 114 horses competed on Friday, I'm not sure about Saturday. I had a great show with my youngsters (Caramelo aka "Nugget", Luciana "Lucy", and Vaquero "Cowboy"). I really enjoyed taking my yearling colt into the Bellas Formas classes (I've never done that before), especially winning reserve champion Saturday with him. Lucy was all blue ribbons for Pat Figueroa (her trainer), but she's not yet ready for me to show. I had a blast with Nugget, who though he was fussy the second day and we did not go back into the championship that day. We're being careful, and not asking very much of the youngsters. Nugget and I got 2 blues Friday, and 2 seconds on Saturday, and 3rd & 4th in the a/o pleasure championship Fri. I'm so pleased to have such an agreeable 3 year old to show and enjoy! He is a true pleasure. Here's a shot of me and "Nugget". I'm going to post a photo of Nugget with his full sister in Paso chit chat. Let's see those pics, MotorG's!

So - here's Greg and Chucuano's Pistolero Pete aka 'Pete'
They got a 3rd on Friday in A/O Pleasure Geldings and a 2nd Saturday! Not bad for a pair that rarely get to ride together more than 4-5 times a month! Pete's wearing a slotted Kimberwicke - (legal 'curb' bit.... much to my surprise - but it works for him)....
Those of you long-timers will remember that Pete is our rescue horse (at 11 months) and who is now 6 1/2) - what a difference in attitude then and now!

Lori it was great seeing you and your gorgeous critters!

Speaking of the Kimberwick it's most of our guys favorite bit and the one that gives us the best response for things that require tights turns like running poles and barrels. We think it's a great starter bit because they have a decent headset but are comfortable with it unlike a snaffle which ours all hate. It doesn't have a lot of whoa though if you have a high strung horse who likes to run. Even Chinook who is normally great with it and stops on seat cues needed a longer shank for endurance rides because she would ignore it to run with the herd.

It was a fun show! We almost entered but didn't get through with our cowboy mounted shooting class in time to get there for the geezer class at the show. Maybe the next one???

I enjoyed meeting all of you and what lovely horses you all have. Tina loves the shaggy mane and tail on Nugget. I can't wait to see what her pictures look like. She was flashing everyone. I will post what I have as soon as I get them back. I am hoping to do that today. I can't wait to see you all again. I hope it wont be to long until we met again.

This horse I think is Lori's Nugget, but it could be his sister, I don't know the rider.

This is Tina with a filly named Pixie. Pixie's Mom is in time out in the stall next to her.
