Appyday,
I didn't want to highjack Joni's leg que post, but I would like you to right some more info on the spur stop & spur training/cues that your App uses.

I had heard of it but thought it sounded rather barbaric until you posted some about that type training earlier. The way you explained it made it sound like a sophisticated (by that I mean precise) way to cue a horse.

Could you start with the cue for start walk to whoa transitions? I truly found your post quite interesting, and I have an App gelding that really wants me to try some new internet learned skills on him

Thanks in advance.

Walk and whoa... This is to NEVER make the horse bleed be sore or be crewl..and when I say HOOK A SPUR in the rib cage it is not to be as bad as it sounds.

I will try to get some pics and videos now that Roger is being worked regularly and getting in shape...

I use equtation ball type 2" goose neck shank spur...like this..

Trainers will use a blunt type rowl spur..as their legs are stronger and better then mine.

Walk bump with spurs to move on..apply pressure to slow down and more to do "The Watermellon Crawl"

Whoa is actually a sit deep and apply both spurs behind the girth...Hold and they will drop the head and back..so this is double...spur..stop..keep spur in they drop head and back...spur and they stop and release spur and they stand...they are taught to "suck back" to spur not move forward..

Look up spur broke horse on the internet you will find some neat readings.
