Within weeks of each other, the Puerto Rican paso fino community lost two great competitors and producers!
Replica de Majestuoso. Lost in the prime of his career both in the show ring and breeding shed. Died due to complications to a leg injury in late February 2006. The owner tried everything but it was too much. Replica was put down the first week of April. Replica was revolutionizing the PPR horse with his prepotent abilities as a breeding stallion.
Don Coqui. The winningest PR stallion in the history of the breed. CONFEPASO champion and breeder of champions. Semi-retired from the show ring. Don Coqui was admitted to an equine hospital last week and diagnosed with a severe case of kidney stones. Surgery was performed to remove the stones. Don Coqui survived the surgery to die Friday, April 14th, due to internal bleeding while in recovery.
