The Youth Scholarship Committee of the Paso Fino Foundation will be awarding scholarships of up to $5000 this year for deserving youth applicants. You can get your scholarship criteria and guidelines and application online at the pfha.org website or copy the application that will be coming out in the May Paso Fino Horse World magazine. The applications are due by May 31, 2006 and require letters of recommendations, transcripts, and other information. (Don't wait to the last minute!)

Last year, in its initial year, the Scholarship committee awarded $15,000 in college scholarships to five deserving youth members. The scholarships can be used for vocational school, trade school, community college, or university study.

Good luck,

Marcia Davis

I have a question on the letters of recommendations....is it ok if you are asked by more than one kid to write one? ;-)

What does a kid need to do to qualify. Show? be a good owner??? My daughter is going to be a high school freshman next year so I have 4 years to "position"her.

Lori, it is certainly okay to write letters of recommendation for more than one applicant.

On the other question, the criteria and guidelines set out the requirements. The application is also a good place to look. You can download both from the pfha.org website on the youth scholarship tab.
