What a beautiful baby! Danesa's foal's sire has lots of buckskin in his ancestory. I wonder whether there's any chance her baby could get color like that . . . . Probably wishful thinking, but it never hurts to dream, right?

I sure hope he stays that silvery buckskin color! He's got a little bit of black above his eyes and below his forlock. Hopefully, this will be a pretty black mask. I did witness the birth, thanks to a foalart system which worked perfectly. We're throwing around the name "Matador", but it's not a firm decision yet. It would be neat to combine Sire and Dam names, but I don't see a good combo there. Suzanna is out of Festival International, and I thought of naming him "Fiesta" or "Festival". Ideas?
Thanks for all the compliments, I sure am enjoying this little dude.

Lori, he is beautiful! I love his expression on such a pretty face. I like Fiesta too. And, even though this is a great picutre, you are going to have to post more you know.

Here's another one. He doesn't know quite what to do with those legs yet, it's fun to watch! Well, I proposed a couple more names to Greg, and he said, "What? His name is Matador". Ok then. Matador de Eco.

GREAT pics....reminds me of Mila..(same color).... Now, what happened to that mare's tail? Did she have a foal last year that "removed" some of it for her (hehehe) ??
Congrats on a very pretty colt! ;-)

What a cutie Lori...he's an awesome color and I'm with you and hope he keeps it, he'll really show well. Beautiful mare too. Matador sounds like a fun name...
Terry,
Suzanna's tail was eaten off last year (and 3 other horses) by another filly...Serafina. Serafina is not Suzanna's filly, but she let her eat the tail anyway. Needless to say, I put Serafina out only with horses that are not headed to show. I put down a mineral block and a plain salt block, and started spraying tails with "McNasty". So far, so good, no more chopped tails.
