Although a little unkempt and muddy from the last night's rain (rain, rain, blessed rain! :D ) here is Pequena Flor at a year old...no longer a baby, and blossoming into quite a nice young lady!

Pequena is the offspring of our Canela de Sangria, a smutty dun homozygous direct daughter of Santana del Cardo, and Pegasus Dos de Estaban, the homozygous black and white Pinto stallion of Grove Creek Farms. Pequena herself is homozygous for the tobiano pattern. She is for sale.

Thanks, Lori...I don't know if it's just because she's mine, but I think she's got one of the most refined heads I've ever seen on a Pinto...or a Paso, for that matter.
Here's my favorite headshot...

and from the other side, with her one blue eye...

Aw...just a few pennies, TrueStep... ;-)

(and remember, this is the yearling stage, when often they go through an ugly stretch... ;-) ...can you imagine what she'll look like as an adult???) :D

We are hoping to repeat this breeding to Dos again with Canela, in hopes of getting a colt as nice as Pequena. That colt will then be kept as a breeding stallion.
It would've happened this year, but for the drought, and exorbitant hay prices! :(

She is gorgeous!! I would love to have a pinto one day, would love to have an offspring of Santana.

It's so sad that he died, so hopefully by the time I can have a pinto I can find one.

Here's a lovely photo of our Canela de Sangria (Santana del Cardo/Sangria de El Dione) when pregnant with Pequena. Canela's mother, Sandy, is the Pinto mare in the team of horses pulling the carriage that opened the Grand Nationals two years in a row. She is owned by Pam and Ray Knisely of Carriage House Farms.
