That's her mom behind her. I guess she threw a fit today when leaving her mom and friends and hopefully she has calmed down on the ride here.

She will have friends here too so she should be happy.

Sunday Sunday Sunday...............

Hey, Jenn...your mare shares a lot of the common ancestry of some of my horses...Leyenda La Joya in my stallion, Rojo Tejas's pedigree...and there is a lot of de Casta blood in his line.

http://www.pasoregistry.com/db/Tree.asp?ID=97176

I also have a Cirano mare, and a Gracioso mare...and of course your mare's mama goes back to Desvelo who is in a couple of my oldster's pedigree.
I think you'll have yourself a nice little riding horse there...and she sure is pretty to boot! Congrats!

Jenn, she IS beautiful...such a soft face, very feminine, definately a 'lady.' Very unique color too.

I should say she has awesome bloodlines, Bochica, Ladrillo, Jaun Jaun all from the top side. Mar de Plata and Hilaches on the bottom.

She should gait very well, but her color is to die for. Love her mane.

We do plan on going to ride in Red Rock during the cool season, cannot imagine summer in the heat there and we have place just down the road that go up into the hills. But alas, that is years away most likely.

Well I get to wait until Monday. My choice was either very dark and late Sunday night or first thing in the morning. Hmm which is better for pictures? Morning of course LOL

Seems we have another princess as well the hauler said. She is not used to being told what to do. Guess I will have my hands full when she gets here.

I will have pictures to post on Monday, I promise.

:D hey wow I looked at your horses pedigree and that reminded me a friend of ours in Las Vegas(GreenValley) has a full brother to Leyenda la Joya /your horses paternal granddam. His name is Centinela la Joya son of Ladrillo & Sotileza. he is a real sweet and lovely red (chestnut)stallion. Our friend Carlos Duran works at the Mandalay Bay I think as a Pit boss or manager or something like that. They had a few paso finos all nice his then small children rode them.

Oh wow, another Paso owner in Vegas woohoooooooooo!

That's 2 besides me a bit further away.

I would love to find all the local Paso people and I know the show in July owuld be a great way to find them, but besides me asking everyone who comes in LOL I am unsure of how to do it. I was kind of looking for a Paso mentor out here for me to bug in person about alot of the things I will ask and would like to see in person.

So where did Cameo get off to? I have a particular soft spot for her.

Cameo is still witht he people I bought Trinket from. They are debating selling her. Said she is the smoothest ride.

Trinket is doing very well here and sheis so easy to love. It's hard cleaning her stall because she just wants to lay her head on you and get loved on. She would get loved on 24/7 if she could.

She was NOT fond of the flymask I put on her and dislikes water. But she has a superb temperament and welove her. I can't wait to get a few more older ridable ones here, which is going to happen. It's been discussed and I do not want to wait a few years to be able to ride again. More then likely if we don't do it before we move, it will be afterwards. We have our eye on a few.

She is getting more and more black. I thought she would be getting more white since she is going grey. I'll have to get some new ones of her. Who knows what color she will be now.

She doesn't spook at all when the roadrunners run past, the herd of rabbits taking food literally form their mouths, the drove of crows landing on their stall bars, the families of quail noisily darting uner them and the woofers howling adn dogs barking, plus the neighbors loud 5 children playing and screaming at all hours of the day and night. Not to mention the servere winds we get with debris and tumbleweeds flying around them. She should be pretty spook free by time she is old enough to go on trails out here.

In my greys, the base coat darkened while they turned grey. Is this what you are experiencing? Some looked black and grey. Another looked like what I'd call a chocolate roan, but she's almost white now.

My pasos have adopted rabbits and chickens. There are various birds around them. The fox even used to come for drinks. I just have one, who hates dogs. I think her dam had to defend her against the neighbor's dogs when she was little.

Yes she is getting darker so I guess it's a wait and see process. She's only a year old so lots of time to chage colors.
