I'm still missing alot, but here are the few I got from different people.

Waterfall at Hacienda Buena Vista, a place where they used to make coffee and something else, can't remember. They used water as a source of energy

How they 'made' their energy

And a little story about my stay there. Got there around 4-5, went to a supermarket to buy "supplies" (aka junk to stuff ourselves with since the food sucks)
Our supplies:

After that drove an hour to the camp, we had to climb up a huge hill to get there, me carrying the all the water, whew what a work out. Then we ate yucky food. Next day went to Ponce, shopped a little. Then Hacienda Buena Vista. Next day we went to the Caves of Camuy, very nice and HUGE. Then to Arecibo.
Saturday went on a boattrip (very boring) then walking in Dos Bocas river, what an adventure. It had rained the day before so the river had a but more current than usual. Alot of people fell down which was quite funny, the current almost took me away had not my friend grabbed me. Then we got lost :-? . Eventually found our way back, not before standing there for half an hour. There was a horse nearby so I went to look at him (stallion, just walking around loose  ). He was very skinny, and full of ticks the poor thing. Was unfriendly at first then let me touch him and pet him.
Sunday we went to the mall :D, then to the other camp, and great news we had an even BIGGER hill to climb to get to the top. We had to climb that, every morning. Took about 8-10 to climb it.
Monday we went walking in the rainforest, pretty nice. Then we went swimming in the pool, I just went tanning.
Tuesday we went to Old San Juan, then an art musuem, pretty nice (and that means it was freakin awesome since I don't really like art), then to the Mall again and back to camp where we just hung around. The started a waterballoon/shaving cream and a bunch of other stuff fight, till the camp manager came screaming at them threathening to throw us all out. We didn't sleep that night (most of us anw), we stole juice from the kitchen, and shaved 14 guys' legs. And sprayed a bunch of people with shaving cream. I fell alseep for 5 min and got toothpaste all over me. I have a pic of that if there are people interested and I doubt that most of you guys will even read what I wrote here so I'll probably won't have to post it. Anyway then it was Wednesday, we had to pack get on the bus, I was so tired I fell asleep everywhere including the breakfast table, the bus and the plane. Would have fallen asleep standing if it was possible. Then I was back on AUA and went riding :D .
More pics coming soon.
Wow, that was a long story

Aruba and Puerto Rico, what a lucky lucky girl.

The pics were great and made me want to go there myself.

Have to change my "places to Visit" list now.

^5 for shaving the men's legs but just one eyebrow would have been funnier ;-) Then they have to either leave it or shave the other.... *whistles*

Sounds like fun....the waterfall looks great! And the waterwheel was the predicessor of a turbin. It was a common source of energy and like windmills, are still used all over.

I agree with Nito about Old San Juan and El Morro. I've been there a couple times and always love it. Of course, I always spend TOO MUCH MONEY there, so it's best if I don't go SHOPPING there! LOL

Looks like a great and interesting trip. Glad you enjoyed it.

And beautiful pictures...lots of happy faces there.

The best thing about it was at night, when we were all in the dining hall, playing cards or just talking singing along with the guitar, everyone was there having a blast, and that's something that will never ever happen again. You will never get us all together like that again, because at school we're all split up in different groups. I really liked that moment and will cherish it forever, it was definetly worth missing Marinero competing

Looks like you had a blast. I remember going to Europe as a kid and we all thought "we can sleep when we get home."

Wasn't that radar gizmo in a James Bond movie? Cool.

I'm glad you had fun. Thanks for sharen. We usta put shaving cream in the hands of people sleeping and then tickle their face and they would slap themselves and the shaving cream would go all over the place. LOL

Brigette and Nito....Those are all great photos! Almost like being there ...haha. Let's see some more.

When I was in Santo Domingo, a group of us went to a restaurant that was in a cave...you went down a steep sprial staircase to get down where you dined in the bottom. I think it may have been called "The Cave" restaurant. That was fun.

Chin up, Nito. The man can't live forever. Hopefully your beautiful island will be what it was again soon and we will all get to visit. Do you have family there?

05-01-2006, 03:09 PM
Yep half of my family is still there, more like almost my whole family since I have no interest in my dad's side of the family which they are all in US already.

Cindy
05-01-2006, 04:16 PM
That's got to be hard. Do you hear from them much?

05-01-2006, 05:24 PM
Nope - no computers and limited phone use - theres only one telephone in each little city - theres only a lot in the capitol - Havana but its only for tourists.

Brigitte
05-01-2006, 10:03 PM
That must suck, but things will get better ;-)

Nito - The pics of the cave entrance & the Morro are gorgeous! Can ya help me out and tell me what the Morro is exactly....?

I went to Puerto Rico for like an hour and a half, so it doesn't really count...but from what I saw, it was beautiful. ....someday.....

05-02-2006, 07:06 PM
The Morro is a big fort in the entrance of the port of san juan

TrueStepPaso
05-02-2006, 07:09 PM
