Those of you from the old board may remember Miguel...he is a beautiful small gelding that has been passed around to several homes and finally we thought that he had found his forever home with a friend of mine, a 72 year old lady, that loved him and he loved as much back.
Sadly, my friend is no longer riding...she has sustained painful injuries from being thrown by a horse. This horse was NOT Miguel. It was another horse that she went with a friend to look at that threw her. But unfortunately she doubts she can ever get in the saddle again. Therefore she thinks it is best that Miguel finds another home.
I hope it is ok to post about this here because she does not want him going to just anyone and I will not be posting him on any classifieds. This is a gorgeous Performance type gelding and I call him a sized-down Rojo Tejas, as he is a carbon copy of my stallion. I wish to God I could buy him but I just can't.
Here is Miguel, and he looks very much like this today...

Oh, no. Poor Miguel! To anyone out there interested in him, he is just the sweetest guy. Absolutely the best ground manners you could ask for in a horse. Pretty as a picture, too. My husband just adored him and was very angry with me for letting him go. But I will be truthful and say that he was too much horse for what I wanted. And I was too chicken!
He would do wonderfully with someone who could give him a lot of one on one attention. He liked attention. And like Carol said, he is an image of her Rojo...he is fire engine red and shiny.
Carol, please find him a good home. :(

Linda, I'm glad you posted. Yes, Miguel is one of the most sweet horses I've ever met. He stole my heart immediately.
What Linda says about Miguel was very true...when my friend got him, all he knew how to do was gait around an arena at a very top speed (not so unlike a whole lot of other Pasos I have known). My friend worked with him and worked with him, and finally got him to flat walk with her and do everything she asked him to. She took him on several trail rides and yes, she did have to work the nerve out of him. But now he has been ridden by several other people and seems to do quite well on the trail.
I won't lie to anyone, he is SMALL...very small...perhaps 13.2 H. If I get up there in the next couple weeks I will take my stick along and measure him.
The sad thing is is that he TOTALLY gave his heart to Margie, and now he is going to have to leave her. But she already has a Peruvian gelding with DSLD which she will never sell. To keep two horses she cannot ride is not possible.
She quoted me $4500...but as in any situation, for the right home, I KNOW she would come down. This is a SHOW QUALITY gelding!

I had someone call from eastern NC looking for one in that size range, but not that much $$ ...an older lady who is around 5' 2". She called about one of mine for sale that has been recently spoken for.

there are petite people looking for shorter ones with impeccable manners and calm disposition.
